‘The Modi government will be wasting its time talking to Nawaz Sharif.’ ‘It would be better if it were to open a direct channel with the Pakistan army,’ says Rajeev Sharma.

The death sentence for former Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav in a dubious espionage case by a Pakistan military kangaroo court is a signature case of the rule of thumb of the powerful Pakistan army which traditionally keeps the civilian government in the lurch.
It shows that the Pakistani military establishment cares two hoots for the elected government in office. It is evident that in other countries the State has an army but in Pakistan, it is the other way around. It also shows that the Jadhav case is being choreographed solely by the Pakistan army.

The unending humiliations meted out by the Indian Army on its arch rival is not forgotten easily, a sense of inferiority complex drives deep down into the Pakistan army's psyche. The implicit dominance of the Indian Army over the years both military and in strategic positioning is an insurmountable proposition for the beleaguered Pak army. Hence, they resort to a myriad of vile mechanizations to put pressure on the Indian state. This is despite the weak-kneed approach adopted by the Congress governments of the past which did not resort to any aggressive steps to counter Pakistan's depraved actions.

It is worthy to note that in the bilateral context the timing of Jadhav’s death sentence is hugely important. The two sides just concluded talks under the Indus River Waters Commission and an Indian parliamentary delegation also just concluded a visit to Pakistan, both events is seen as a positively forward-looking step.

Amid these tensions, India called off a maritime security dialogue with Pakistan today, which was scheduled for early next week. A delegation led by Pakistan’s Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) was to visit New Delhi from April 16-19 to discuss issues related to fishermen and search and rescue operations.

The latest turn in the Jadhav saga points to many more important things:
The Nawaz Sharif government as well as Pakistan’s national assembly have been systematically shut out of the Jadhav case. Pakistani parliamentary committees on defence and foreign affairs have a goose egg information on the entire alleged espionage episode. Sartaj Aziz, the Pakistan prime minister’s foreign affairs advisor, told the Pakistan senate in December that the civilian government had no evidence of Jadhav being an Indian spy. Thus, the Pakistani military’s kangaroo court has wilfully and blatantly gone contrary to what a top official like Sartaj Aziz told the Pakistan parliament on record. Pakistan army wants the world to believe he was arrested in its Baluchistan province though Jadhav was ensnared from Iran last year.

This sordid episode roots to a more important development lately which may well be linked to a retired Pakistani army officer’s disappearance.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Habib went missing from Lumbini in Nepal close to the Indian border a few days ago. The Pakistani media is awash with inspired stories that Habib has been ‘kidnapped’ by the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India’s external intelligence agency.

There is a possibility that the haste shown by the Pakistani military court in sentencing Jadhav to death may be a pre-emptive move to tell its domestic constituency that the military establishment is and will remain a more dominant force in the Islamic republic.

G G Dwivedi on ISDA wrote, "Today, with conventional war becoming a receding option, we are in an era of hybrid warfare; a diverse and dynamic blend of conventional, low intensity, and cyber operations. Low-intensity warfare is being orchestrated through both regular forces and irregulars. The Pakistan army, after enacting the role of a frontline state and supporting the mujahideen to defeat then Soviet Army in Afghanistan in the 1980s at the behest of the United States, has gone on to master this art."

The deadly Modi-Doval combine must continue its relentless assault on the Pakistani establishment as any let up would provide the enemy to the breather to bleed India further. Additionally, the mentally bankrupt peaceniks have been anyway shoved into cold storage by a more assertive nationalistic movement.

Finally, this author believes that the Modi government will be wasting its time and effort negotiating peace with the Nawaz Sharif government or the Pakistani Army.

. . .
Military has already given their stance after Core Commander Conference earlier this month. There is nothing which India can change using force or begging. Neither will work.

But Indian desperation proves that Kulbhushan is definitely somebody important and much bigger than an ordinary businessman which India claims. :yes4:

Your obsession with Modi is unhealthy. You should get checked into a mental institution and de-tox

I have a watertight case against Modi on such:
Let me light your candle first, cause you are living in the dark room.

His Right wingers wanted the following, but Modi disappointed them:

Samjhauta Express still running.
MFN not revoked
Pakistan not declared a terrorist state.
IWT not revoked.

He was not elected solely by the right-wingers and I am glad that right-wingers are disappointed - did you really expect him to do a Trump and appease the retards?

I did not see a single campaign promise by Modi to do any of the 4 points you mentioned. Even after being elected and half-way through his term, he hasn't said any of the 4.

He has a band of right-wing buffoons following him and his demonetization was a complete disaster. But overall, his ministers have been far better at delivering - I'd rather have Piyush Goyal in-charge of power than Shibu Soren.

Excellent Idea
no more talks on Indus water treaty and no more Kashmir talks we can do what we want if any one asks we say we don't have diplomatic ties with them .

Infact India should stop recognizing Pakistan and Pakistan can stop recognizing India so no more Kashmir talks and IWT
Come on Modi do it. Declare Pakistan's High commissioner persona non grata and ask him to please leave New Delhi.
Pakistan can do the same too.

Zarvan my friend. This 'hell' you speak of lies only in your books and imagination. Kudos for your belief. Lets all clap for your imaginary hate group. Back lash is something you may consider as part of the school you run. There are many men that enjoy a good kill... And look at all prophets as a irritation. like a mosquito. I am one of them.
