I believe, IAC-2 will be another Vikrant class carrier before moving onto Vishal Class.

Why are so few ships being planned on construction? 3, 4, 6, considering India's size and blue navy aspirations one would assume 6, 7, 10 or are these more of preparations into introducing Indian Ship Yards/ replacing older ships?
Thanks.
I seriously think this was an old article that got published now. Alot of info is really very old. I
INS Vishakapatnam launched on 20 April, 2015.
INS Kolkata commissioned on 16 August, 2014.
INS Kamorta commissioned on 23 August, 2014.
P. S: This is article was probably first published on August, 2014. Such a shabby job by IDN.
Update: This was a post by someone called Gessler in an indian forum posted on August 31, 2014 with a title "Future of Indian Navy : A complete compilation"
.
This dude Abhishek Das just copy pasted the whole article and sent it to IDN and they just published it without even reading it. Such a pity and desperate attempt.
Good Day!
Maybe Abhishek Das and Gessler are one and the same.
Still doesn't make sense to upload a 2 year old article. Regardless, it's irrelevant now anyway.
But 1thing to look into that article maybe, 2 years past and where are we in terms of achieving whatever we planned 2 years back? Despite the LHD project and Helicopter acquisition, it's safe to say IN is actually on the right path.
Good Day!
Technically, both the AF and N are doing good now. The navy is getting all that they've signed up for. The AF too, with the soon-to-be-signed Rafale and FGFA.
New Recruit
@PARIKRAMA do we have any plan to develop any naval radar as capable as MFSTAR in future? Even Countries like turkey is using their own naval radars on their ships.
Too little, too late.
The IN needs to build
(1) 60 destroyers
(2) 40 frigates
(3) 20 conventional subs
(4) 30-40 SSNs and SSBNs
(5) 6-8 LPDs and LHDs
(6) 4-6 CVs
(7) a 300-aircraft navy aviation wing
(8) and a host of other ships
in the next decade to pose any creditable challenge to the PLAN
