What's new

IDEF'15 | 5-8 May 2015 | İSTANBUL-TÜRKİYE

Then can we say; camera above, IR tracker below ?

Cabatlı, i am not sure about one thing... IR tracker shouldn't be like sphere shaped ? So it can rotate and track the heat source ? These cameras looks fixed ?

This is not an absolute obligation.

Iron Fist APS (Active protection system)

- IR Tracker (Red)
- Active radar (Violet)

So it was well one of the first elements (IR Tracker) to ‘Akkor APS.

Bro, During your offline, Turkish defence section have been bombed with new toys and informations. Where were you during all this time? Don't forget to check IDEF thread all pages...

Weight/Balance issues. The T-129 had problems with it in the past so by changing the FLIR so sudden will make it unstable and as a result the deliveries would be delayed again. The turkish army needs these helo urgently.

I know this and many said that heavy Flir made this problem without right configurations. With lighter Flir and the right configuration you could solve this problem of a new Flir.

My bro... it is IR sensor not IR tracker...

It is activated by command from the fire control system, employing an Elta Systems conformal, distributed radar system and an infrared sensor called Tandir, developed at Elbit Systems Elisra.
Iron Fist Active Protection System (APS)

Following the demand for affordable, various range and light-weight protection against ATGM's, Elisra develops a cost-effective passive IR system for ground vehicles. The system is based on wide FOV uncooled bolometric sensors with full azimuth coverage and a lightweight processing & control unit. The system design is based on the harsh environmental conditions. The basic algorithm discriminates the target from its clutter and predicts the time to impact (TTI) and the target aiming direction with relation to vehicle. The current detector format is 320*240 pixels and frame rate is 60 Hz, Spectral response is on Far Infrared (8-14μ). The digital video output has 14bit resolution & wide dynamic range. Future goal is to enhance detection performance by using large format uncooled detector (640X480) with improved sensitivity and higher frame rates (up to 120HZ).

Sick and in bed !
Get well soon bro ! :)

So that on Altay is a passive infra-red (IR) like Iron Fist...

...

I hope You are OK now brother.
Get well quickly inşallah...

Yes !

But that engineer in the fair told our friend that they are IR-tracker.....

@Sinan evet öndekiler IR tracker falan dedi. Yani sırf IR tracker yok. 'IR tracker vs.' manasında kurdu cümleyi ve evet öndekiler için onu dedi. Özellikle 'infrared' kelimesini kullandım.

But that look of the camera doesn't looks like a IR tracker at all....

I think, the most possible answer is; there was misunderstanding between xxxKuxxx and the engineer and those are indeed IR-sensors.....not IR-trackers.

IDEF 2015: TAI position for Polish Kruk attack helicopter

TAI has signed two MoUs with Polish defence companies at the IDEF exhibition as it builds up to compete for Poland’s attack helicopter programme – Kruk.

On 5 May the company signed an MoU with Mesko and a further agreement the following day with WCBKT. It expects to sign further such agreements with Polish industry when the Kruk RfP is released. The country plans to purchase a total of 32 attack helicopters.

Gorkem Bilgi, business development manager for the helicopter group at TAI, told Shephard that the agreement with Mesko is for the armaments and sight systems for its offering of the Turkish T129 ATAK rotorcraft. The deal with WCBKT is for ground support equipment.

TAI is going up against bids from Airbus Helicopters, Bell and Boeing. The former company has already been selected as the provider for Poland’s utility helicopter programme.

By building a coalition of local industry within its bidding group, TAI hopes to be able to strongly respond to the RfP, which Bilgi said hopes will come in Q3 2015.

‘It is a win-win for us,’ he said. ‘There is a huge aviation industry in Poland with lots of local industry, and we are willing to cooperate with other companies.’

TAI builds the T129 under licence from AgustaWestland, which itself owns Polish company PZL-Świdnik. Bilgi said that TAI and PZL-Świdnik are in talks about the latter being a completion centre, but that they are still in talks.

In the meantime, TAI is awaiting the decision to release the RfP by the Polish Army Inspectorate procurement organisation, so that it can get details about Polish Army requirements.

The Turkish Army is already taking delivery of T129A ATAK helicopters from TAI.

Totally agree with you. :smart:

So there is ‘9 IR sensors (not only 8)’on Altay. ;)
