POF inks $6.5 million defence deal with Lebanese company
ISLAMABAD (April 29 2009): Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) has inked a defence deal with the Lebanese company worth $6.5 million on the first day of the exhibition IDEF-2009 in Istanbul. As a result of this defence deal, POF exports touched the highest figure of $80 million in the fiscal year 2008-09.

POF is participating in this defence exhibition by showcasing its full range of products. POF stall has become the focus of attention among the visiting delegates due to state-of-the-art sophisticated defence technology of international standard. Prime Minister of Turkey Tayyip Erdogan visited POF stall on the day of the exhibition. Chairman POF Board Lieutenant General Syed Sabahat Hussain thanked him for visiting POF stall and briefed him about POF products.

The Turkish premier took keen interest in POF products. Those who visited POF stall on the first day of the exhibition include Secretary Defence Brunei, Syrian Defence Minister and Defence Minister of Maldives. The POF stall also attracted a large number of other delegates throughout the day.

Chairman POF Board Lieutenant General Syed Sabahat Hussain briefed the high-level defence delegation about POF quality products. POF chairman invited the delegates to visit Pakistan Ordnance Factories in order to see the manufacturing processes of POF. Most of the delegates accepted the invitation of the chairman. Sabahat also told the delegates that POF is heading towards partnering its competencies with renowned brands around the world in the form of joint ventures.-PR
