In the UK ANYONE with a computer can look up the ownership on UK Land registry for £3. You can see the address or addresses on street view. If the house was ever on the market then you can view the interior all the rooms description and and price when last sold.
You can even have a historical view of price all the times it was sold in the past.

While that is likely possible, it may not that easy. If someone wants to hide their ownership of a property, they will hide their identity behind shell companies. For example, an apartment in Knightsbridge will be owned by an LLC in the Bahamas with a physical person as the company's Director. This LLC will in turn be owned by a company in the BVI, which in turn will be owned by a PTE in Singapore. Even if you could track down the Director for this LLC in the Bahamas, privacy laws in that country will not allow you to find out about the other two shell companies in this example so the trail will die there.
All our "someone" has to do is pay a setup fee and annual maintenance fee to the numerous law firms that provide this service. Unfortunately, this practice isn't illegal but helps illegality.

Owning shell companies can raise multiple questions about tax avoidance, evasion, corruption, and also ML. But it is is not, in and of itself, a crime.

Accusations need to taken up by the authorities, evidence gathered, investigations conducted along with forensic audits, then it must be prosecuted for guilt to be established.

Yes, exactly. IK and his ilk are massive hypocrites if they think panama papers are godsend, and pandora papers are a conspiracy. Both are the same, the named individuals should be treated the same.
