Wow, two drones crash (for as yet unknown reasons) and people are already talking about ditching these highly dependable and effective UAVs.

One would be surprised how often those things go down in the real word, the US's UAV (of course much bigger than anyone else's ) drone fleet suffers such a loss on average once a week.

(BTW, those drones wouldn't be there if Pakistan wasn't playing host to so many terrorists. American drones don't fly over India or Sri Lanka or South Africa, if you notice. This is not because Pakistan is the most desirable country to bring under an imperial dominion, but because Pak has so many terrorists whom Pak forces are unable or unwilling to eliminate.)

There only a handful of American/NATO planes in Afghanistan(which is where they will come from). After their bases in Afghanistan are attacked by Babur, the carriers will be used. But, the carriers too will be blocked by anti-ship missiles and carrier-killer missiles. By the way, why are you itching for Pakistan to be attacked?

Yep, on top of the usual engine and other technical failures, the UAVs also are prone to issues with their command uplink.

Most of the newer ones are now capable of autonomous guidance, but still the AI is not capable of taking over fast enough if there is an interruption in the middle of a command sequence.

Heard a story where an MQ9 crashed in Afghanistan because some IT guy in the server room pulled out the cables in the middle of a mission

I'm not itching for Pakistan to be attacked. I was just informing another member what would happen if an American drone is shot down by Pak, and why Pak has never dared to do that.

MQ-4C Global Hawk has 60,000 ft attitude ...which means it can easily stay inside indian aerospace while looking into pak land
