Maybe either of the two. But all things said; ONLY the pictures from BR are worth posting, some are really good. the views are best left on a Garbage heap.

I'd say BR is also good for technical info on the Indian armed forces and their equipment. But I agree with you about the views and opinions expressed there.

The Dakotas (thats what the British named the C-47s/DC-3s) were really lifesavers in 1962. Both the IAF Dakotas and the private ones were the sole supply line for many units in the N and NE. What would the IA soldiers done without them.

The C-119s 'Flying Boxcars' in American terms (Packets in India) and the DHC-4 Caribous came after the conflict.

Incidentally, India had requested supply of the C-130 Hercules which was turned down and the Packet was given instead. Now so many years later, the wheel has come full circle for the IAF!

The Caribous were India's first STOL transports. Later the Buffalos (the T-tailed replacement) were tentatively offered to IAF. But by then India had conclusively migrated to the Soviets for equipment.

No change of heart here folks. Advertising other forums is not allowed and especially those that are extremely acerbic about Pakistan. Thread closed and out of sight.
