As always, thank you Sage, for your wise thoughtsyes live to kill.....
Its better to choose life then to be somewhere you loose your life also and dont get paid also.
Its is common that when you get superseded you retire and the Air force lets you go. I don't know the retirement structure of IAF but when a PAF officer retires he get another job within the force or another department running by that force and there benefits/incomes are way more than what they were getting when they were in Uniform.
Na yar the figures are totally wrong, Its way below that. Let me get call a IAF friend and get the figures.
funny artilce who wants a pay.....when thou flies a SU30MKI....
New Recruit

When one does not get promotions after 24-25 years of service one wants to leave and try alternative avenues.
Now where in the report does it mention Fighter Pilots? Do you guys know how many transport aircrafts and helis we operate? 100 is such a miniscule number compared to the total number of pilots in IAF. Moreover we are not talking of pilots leaving in 2-3 years. One can apply for voluntary retirement only after having served for 20-25 yrs atleast. After 20-25 years a pilot is in his early or mid 50s and well past his prime. This is the perfect age to join a private airliner to make a few bucks. With all the experience such pilots bring, the airlines just gobble them. Even the report mentions the same-
btw the emolument figures are correct!
One more question:
Are our Pilots paid fair enough in comparison to pilots from other countries... Keeping in account that US pilots will get more but the cost of living in US is also higher.
