The Hot climate makes the jet engine to produce 20% less thrust.

So how Kaveri is a falure if it was conceived to produce 81.0 kN of thrust and actually achieved 72 kN?

Thats another story and I have limited knowledge on Kaveri, but as far as the engine is concerned, the thrust measured on ground could be maintained at some standard condition, and the altitute test was done in Russia not in India, because India lack such platform.

However whatever I know about Kaveri :-
1. Kaveri was not designed from start for such high rating, rather the change of ASR increases the target
2. Kaveri almost reached the wet thrust (military thrust) but the dry thrust was poor.
3. Kaveri was over wt which was due to lack of Metallurgical knowledge in country.

Yes but what the range you might fight in the public domain is the advertised range or any other characteristic like STR, ITR, P/Wt which is different than the actual rating in Indian Condition.
I agree, humidity also affect the aerodynamic performance in a big way.
