IAF test-fires BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from Sukhoi-30

No...

A pair was enough to force a certain AF's almost 2 Sq. of fighters to fire BVRs from so far as not to get in combat with them.
That only happened in Modified Desh....in real world two IAF Mirage pilots developed radar issues simultaneously and the second SU-30 called 'Bingo' after just 30 minutes of flight and left the arena at supersonic speed after seeing his wingman mated with a BVR.

. .
How many do you have though???

We plan to equip only 40 flankers with BRAHMOS and balance will be kept for air superiority role only..... right now I think only 3-4 are modified but I don't know exact numbers.....maybe by now they're in more numbers......

"In a display of its growing combat prowess, the Indian Air Force on Friday successfully test-fired an air launched version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from a Sukhoi fighter aircraft in the Bay of Bengal, official sources said.

The missile hit a sinking ship with deadly accuracy and the test-firing produced desired results, they said.
The aircraft, belonging to Thanjavur-based Tigersharks squadron, took off from a frontline airbase in Punjab and it was refuelled mid-air before the missile was released, they said."

From Punjab to bay of Bengal with air to air refueling, nice.
A distance of more than 2000 km.
Checking the reliability of sukhois for long flying hours and testing the infrastructure in the east.
For possible interdiction against Chinese shipping.

PAF Miraages and (soon) JF-17s outrange Su-30MKIs even here. PAF Miraages can launch nuclear cruise missiles from 550Km away while Su-30MKIs can't even do half of that range.

Just shows you how superior PAF truly is despite having far lower resources. PAF F-16s were able to dominate Su-30s in actual combat---PAF defeated Su-30MKIs electronically, got a locked-on, and fired BVR AIM-120C at Su-30s while they were helpless and couldn't even get a single shot back and had to run away from the combat while PAF was humiliating IAF, bombing indian bases, shooting down indian jets, and indian military in fear and panic killed its own 7 officers by shooting its own helicopter

The Indian friends who were worried on 20 soldiers killing with chinese sticks are now convinced that they have been able now to conquer China after the successful test of this missile

Very simple thinking.
One is a medium category and other is a heavy category fighter.
The procurement was initiated in the Congress government period as our 40 odd mirage2000 were getting outdated and Pakistan was quite ahead with its blk52 f16s.
Modi only completed the deal which kept on dragging for a decade. The rafale was finalized by Manmohan Singh.
You are in a defense forum, i bet everyone, except you knows the timeline.

Yeah someone who is barely out of diapers will tell me how defense forum works. Every one but Indians can see the huge scam and kickback associated with this deal. But expecting some rationality from an Indian is simply too much to ask.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Friday successfully test-fired the DRDO-developed air-launched BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from a Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft.
The aircraft had taken off from an airbase in Punjab and destroyed a target ship located 4,000 km away in the Bay of Bengal after mid-air refuelling. It is the second such successful test of the missile, news agency ANI reported quoting government sources.

A naval version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was successfully test-fired from an indigenously built stealth destroyer of the Indian Navy in the Arabian Sea on October 18.
The missile was fired from INS Chennai, a stealth destroyer, and it hit the target with pinpoint accuracy after performing "extremely complex" manoeuvres, officials said.

"BrahMos as ‘prime strike weapon’ will ensure the warship’s invincibility by engaging naval surface targets at long ranges, thus making the destroyer another lethal platform of Indian Navy," the defence ministry said in a statement.
BrahMos Aerospace, an India-Russia joint venture, produces the supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft, or from land platforms.
