Sukhoi fighter plane crashes in Rajasthan, pilots safe

A Sukhoi-30 fighter plane crashed near Jetha ki Dhani in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district on Monday, but both the pilot and the co-pilot
baled out safely.

The fighter jet was on a routine sortie when the crash occurred, Defence PRO Lt. N N Joshi said.

Yaa,its interesting that we've hardly lost any Mirage 2000 in last 25 years of its service in IAF...its mostly the russian stuff which goes down.

Anybody who knows a thing or two about flying, can easily guess that this crash may probably be a maintenance issue. The pilots knew before hand that some thing was wrong and ejected in time. The things to look out for are similarities, if any between the two crashes.

If one looks at the number of Russian air crafts crashing in the IAF, it only goes to show IAF is still clueless about their maintenance or don't have a proper schedule of maintenance. It also shows how maintenance intensive the Russian aircraft are. IAF needs to get its act together, this is getting rather embarrassing for a professional air force.

Its high time they develop a new maintenance schedule for their Russian jets!!!

the bird hardly have even crossed it's decade long lIfe in 'INDIAn AIR FORCE" but still going through same problem of crash.....
i thought mig-29....mig-21 and mig-27 are crashing just because of having just on the edge of their lifetime
but why is the same case occouring with this bird this bird
this bird is just so new in the service

i think the reason is the corrupted maintanance

It suggests, either IAF is not capable enough to handle its aircraft maintenance or the russian tech holds its worst record of crashes.

Now it'd be important to see which one crashed, the one manufactured by HAL or the one made by the russians.

Its worrisome for a plane to start crashing whose induction process is not complete as yet.

IAF 10 year safety record means it is capable enough to handle the aircraft & its technologies. The 1st one was no fault of the ground crew of the IAF or russian tech, rather more of a pilot error if am not wrong as he switched something off by mistake resulting in the crash.

One or two crashes doesn't implies IAF ground crew incompetency, rather its mostly due to old airframes with quality of parts of these old frames. Mirage & Jaguars had a good record with IAF, or else they should have been falling regularly too.

In the second accident involving the frontline Sukhoi-30MKI of the Indian Air Force (IAF) this year, one of the Russian-origin combat jets crashed Monday near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, but both the pilots ejected in time, an official said.

Hunn...Got it ! we have better experience then PAF for 'what to do before crash'.

LOL.. Surely IAF must be experienced in lifting wreckage and pressing the "Eject" button. I guess IAF is the most experienced air force in this particular regard.

Its not the Russian Tech that is solely responsible for this crash ratio. Russians are also flying their own made air-crafts and they dont throw their planes as often as IAF does. It has more to do with Training and Maintenance. When Indian fellows rant about IAF being the best then this is one parameter to see how good they actually are.

I am very sorry to say but Eid is the holy festival of the Gr8 Islam which doesn't say what u just said ::

To kill just one innocent human is like killing the whole of humanity, and to save just one human amounts to saving the whole of humanity! Can we possibly find a better way of emphasizing the sanctity of human life?!

The Plane was not at war, I dont find it really a thing of amusement that Human life is endangered and Its a Gift for someone.
