IAF’s Innovative use of Transporters as Heavy Bombers

@Skull and Bones after so many days??
@Topic: are'nt they more vulnerable targets compared to the fighters and strategic bombers

No Aircrafts are safer in air. It might be on paper than this could kill that that couold kill this .But to be real no aircrafts are safe. If these plans are to be used it wont be used in the manner that it could be shot down. Pros and Cons are taken before planing a bombing.remember that. For a long time Pakistan was our enemy but things changed it CINA the potent enemy of India .As pakistan can do any invation on India. Bombers are so importand .Even Chinese bought whole set of production line of decades old bombers. It was offred to INDIA but stupid Idiotic babus Netas rejected. like FOOOLS. Its high time we should have Bombers as India as nothing called Stretigic Bmbers.. We should put more bombers like tu 95 .We had a reason that thee are too costly to maintain. How can a Stretigic A/C be cheep in first place? We are world's first importer of arms yet we see bombers as costlier? BULL **** on our Babus and Netas. Lack of Knowledge

What's so innovative about it? Anyone can drop dumb bombs from a heavy transporter fitted with a rear ramp or bottom mounted fuselage doors. If I remember correctly Pakistan used C130 for bombing in 65 or 71.

DUDE rusia most potent answer for USA is TU-95 BEAR which is turboprop plan.

And guess when this plane was introduced -- 50's. Russian doctrine is different, their needs, their targets, everything is different. No comparison.

Articles like these, or rather their headings.. "India does this first".. "Pakistan has the largest ...".."Bangladesh innovates.".. BAH!
Are nothing but the pathetic attempts of these whimsical patrons of conquered civilization to try to make themselves important once again.
So eager to impress the west who literally conquered and enslaved all of us in ways that all the other invaders and settlers could not do over thousands of years.. the west did in 150..
So eager to assuage our collective damaged and wrecked egos that we sub-continent dwellers will stoop to any level to caress it.
The day our common village man votes out of his own wish, without the fear of village elders.. is the day we can truly raise our heads high and for OURSELVES... and not to impress or compete against the west.

Interesting, where was this "innovation" copied from?
Transports were used as bombers as early as WWII when C47's were used to drop explosives in Italy.
Then the PAF used its C-130's as makeshift bombers to some degree of success and boasted of innovation..
Well, innovation it may be.. but that's like saying the S-Voice is innovation when compared to Siri.

As an innovation; this use of transports is simply of value as a NOVELTY, nothing else. In the 1947 air ops, the then RIAF used a few venerable Dakotas to roll bombs out of. Just as Transports were used in 1971; An-12s in the West and Caribous in the East. What was the exact benefit derived from these exercises? Nobody can say for certain; apart from making a big noise. IAF veterans involved in these have written about this on numerous occasions. Most of the accounts are humorous.
