An officer demanded bribe for allotting a 'more advantageous position' for its Rafale aircraft in the 'static' aircraft display section at the biennial airshow, (in other words, a better stall !), was exposed and now action is being taken against him. Corruption is rampant in SE Asia, and this is well known fact.

This matter had nothing to do with MMRCA, or anything related to defence.
What is there in this thread to discuss about, as this news was already posted in this forum months ago?

and thats why 10 year on.MMRCA going nowhere...

1) Isn't it good enough that India has been able to create so much news and exert so much influence over stakeholders of the deal, without even spending a single penny yet ?

2) Can you even comprehend how much money $10-20 Billion dollars is and how long it takes for your country to earn so much money ?

3) India can pull this for as long as it wants to and you're nobody to comment on it. India does not need to buy on credit either so whoever wins the deal is naturally happy, while those who are eliminated make some hue and cry, and those who have nothing to do with this deal, such as our neighbors, make even more hue and cry.

4) The main reason why it took so long to decide is because we had so many options, unlike some other Air Forces in the world who are forced to use whatever they can get their hands on.

5) It is indeed good to know the IAF deals with corruption strictly unlike some other national institutions, and this news piece also encourages us to believe that the MMRCA will not be riddled in corruption.

All these have been revealed, investigated and prosecuted by Indians..not like some countries where the corruption cases have been revealed in foreign countries (wink wink..french corruption case)...as u said Charity begins at home...

Scandals are being a part of defence forces. But atleast we have sacked a no of uniformed officers to their fate whether it is Adarsh scam or any other.

Not able to bring them to conviction is impotency of media and jurisdiction. We have brought accused of J Dey behind the bars but in case of your, Salim Shehzad????
