IAF Mirage upgrade to take 10 years

what will happen in 2021
when world is shifting into 5th generation
at that time all indian migs-29 and jaguars goes old
if indian will invest that 2.5 billion $ on tejas that will be better
i mean too invest into kaveri engine

they are already investing for both programs... fund is no issue for them

Just officials want to make some extra bucks..... bloody suckers

IAF thinks LCA won't be as capable as upgraded mirage even in next 10 years...
actually IAF behaving like a rich man's kids ...

I think it also has more to do with the options available plus the manner in which the defence budget has increased in last few years have really held them ,

But they don't need to push back the indeginisation because of fact that every option is available to them in foreign markets,no matter what are you being offered or what is your purchasing power but getting self-dependent is the most important thing no matter how you start, no-one in the start can make something comparable to what others are making with years of experience and neither one can expect them to make so. I think they need to consider Tejas their first priority instead of the flaws it has and try to polish it ,even they can work with HAL to do so .

China is the biggest example when they started they were no more than imitating Migs and others but now they are self-reliant , they are producing what they have jst dreamt for few years back, People can argue because of their egos regarding the quality of there products but for me examples like J-10,Type-054 etc themself speaks for their quality

Its like a turtle race ,if you have initiated you will for surely reach there sooner or later

Once the MRCA and newer fighters arraive , these M2K's will be moved to strategic commands for nuke delivery ...maybe the reason for the upgrade.

.
It this include the cost related to cost of materials, manpower, maintenance of facilities etc.. ?

.
Couldn't these shitbags have added that $2 billion+ into MRCA and scrapped off the Mirages buying another squadron of new jets? I am sure that after 2-3 years, another scam for Mirage deal will come out. UPA .

Tejas Mk2 would be far more capable than Mirage-2000 mate. The main reason for this inferiority complex is that we think most of Indian maal is kharab while foreign junk is good. Mirage has a good record based on its performance and ADA has used only the same rules as in used by aeronautical engineers worldwide designing delta-wing jets. Tejas has a clean record for a newly made jet and has performed fabulously many times. It is time our babus and corrupt top brass begin to appreciate local products and allow them to evolve.

One thing I don't like about our tri-services is that they want Star Wars tech with a shoestring budget of investment. That is not possible.

By that time these mirages will be obsolete so what is the point of upgrading them?

thats when they will finish being upgraded they will serve for 10-20 years probably be kept in storage who knows because IAF main fighter fleet of the future will be FGFA AMCA LCAMK2 MMRCA fighters the Jagaurs and Mirages will be kept in storage and AMCA will replace both of them in the future

.
Why does IAF want to spend $79 Million per aircraft on upgrading its Mirages and not go for a new machine, what's the strategic gain behind it ?

.
the FGFA will replace the MiG-29 and be the IAF's primary dedicated air superiority fighter

the AMCA will replace the Mirage 2000 Jaguars and MiG-27 in service the MiG-27 will be put to storage starting mid this decade and will be retired by next decade in the future the only MiG left will be the MiG-29 which will be phased out as well, the AMCA will be the IAF medium weight stealth multirole fighter

the LCA and MMRCA will replace the MiG-21 and the already retired MiG-23, the LCA will primarily serve in the interception role with strike and air superiority capabilities same with the MMRCA fighter that will be the IAF's dedicated multirole fighter until AMCA enters service
