IAF looks for more C-130J aircrafts

. .
You have only one axis to revolve around???
Why are you guys buying from U.S.A? they offer no TOT like french or russians, I am sure DRDO could learn alot from those countries and later use it to build your own airlifters...:agree:

just an idea..

But recently IAF Chief said china have more than 3500 thousand fighter aircrafts. so we should more concerned about our attack and multirole aircraft fleet rather than throwing huge money in troop transport aircrafts

:chilli:

I guess we should by 200 of each rafale, typhoon, mig35, griffin, f16 and f18....keeps everyone happy including fanboys.
Lol

. .
Before 2020,
We will have best aircrafts in our inventory ie
300 mki's
100 rafales

.
Indian Tax payers will not be happy.

As if they already are..

OT, Intially reports were coming of 6+6 ...Looks like C-130J will exceed the dozen mark.. However no movement on C-27 front..
This year and next year are going to be very interesting.

My guess is that IAF would like to reduce the different types of planes in there inventory
C27 Spartan and C130J are quite similar aircrafts and share lot of tech
According to me , it would be better for us to buy 28 C130J than buying 16 C27 + 12 C130J

also u guys must know that MRTA and C130J are meant to replace 105 AN32 in indian service ,
and considering the fact that maximum MRTA aircraft to be inducted by India is 45 + 24
so there is a scope for increasing C130J number to 36-40
