IAF helicopter crashes near Hyderabad

Iam sick of these crashes time and again....Tells me how badly we need some trainers, but our IAF is still hunting for some....
Its becoming a joke day by day for a professional fighting force.

LUH and Bell and Eurocopter proposal are in pipeline and will replace 400+ in all Indian armed forces

Iam waiting for the day!!!!.......I hope they do it soon. IAF ka "Shani maha dasha" chal raha hei.

i must say number game make it hard for IAF they need more so still Aérospatiale Alouette II is in service dears .pakistan ground them long before and get AS-350 eurocopter .i think india need more in numbers thats the problem.

we call here LAMA

Must be a HAL Cheetah.
Feel like killing the MoD officials for scrapping the 08 tender in which the Fennec won.........Had that tender not been scrapped,we would have seen AS 550's replacing these 40 year old equipments!

Its common in india isn't it, A deal is brought to tables then it is exaggerated by media and MoDs then all the public gets excited about it then suddenly bang its put on the back burners then suddenly again crashes start then again the deals come to the scene and all that lingering stuff again unless and until a decade passes away.It happens only in india

Apparently it was not a helicopter, it was a trainer aircraft. Trainee Pilot. As long as he is out of danger.

An Indian Air Force (IAF) trainee pilot escaped with injuries after he bailed out from a Kiran training aircraft minutes before it crashed in agricultural fields at Bommarasipet village in Shamirpet on city outskirts on Monday evening.

Police said the pilot Raj Kumar took off from Hakeempet station around 4.40 p.m. on a solo sortie. The aircraft crashed nearly 20 minutes later, the Shamirpet Inspector, Narender Reddy, said. Mr. Kumar reportedly landed on some electric wires near the agricultural fields, but he did not suffer any burns. He was rushed to the military hospital in Bollarum.

Lets hope Saint Antony wakes up from his slumber and signs on the Eurocopter Fennec deal for 197 LUH to replace SOME 200 OF THEM CURRENTLY IN SERVICE WITH IAF AND ARMY

Antony needs to understand that lives come before anything else , frankly it was stupid of us to cancel previous LUH contract with Eurocopter just becoz Bell complained about it
becoz even in the new contract , Eurocopter seems to be the likely winner
Well Indian Airforce chief NAK Browne did said that all current Helicopter tenders will have a winner in sequence by end of Spetember , Lets see whether Antony is able to keep anna trouble aside while signing the contracts

Infact we need LUH more than we need attack helicopters or Heavy lift helis
thats coz our current Mi25/35 fleet has a good record with no losses since Kargil war while Mi26 has had 2 crashes in 25 yrs of operation , compared to that Chetak/Cheetah have 3-4 crashes every yr

I will agree with the bolded part. But i will not entirely blame the forces for this. the DPP policies have become better these days, compared to earlier DPPs (Defence procurement policy of India). There are some new rules that have come up, like any deal below $800 million i guess doesnt need CCS clearance. and some more. You can see how the technical process for MRCA happened well on time with no delays at all.

The systems are changing, and dont bring media here (they will always hype, nothing wrong abt them, and they dont matter also). In future you will see more FMS than bidding procedure apart from crucial ones..This also gives agencies like DRDO to field their own systems.

We are paying a price now for being a conservative ecomony once.but things are changing and soon it will replace the legacy system along with the mindset.

Dear Forum Members,
Can anyone confirm that it was a helicopter.

The Indian media seem to suggest it was a HAL HJT-16 Kiran training aircraft being flown by a solo pilot.
The pilot is said to have bailed out (possibly an ejection ?)

Thanks

A new type of flying coffin in the making? Please confirm.

Aha!The Kirans(Who are also 30+ years old) are the culprits??Sitara is waaaaaaaaaaaay behind schedule and Deepak's grounded since 09 and the tenders for basic trainers are also on hold due to KAI's objections of us selecting the Pilatus PC7Mk2............We have no Basic Trainers and have obsolete IJT's(Kiran 1&2) and good AJT's(Hawks)!Great planning by IAF and execution by MoD:sick::hitwall:
