IAF grounds Mirage 2000 fleet after second crash in 10 days

Hours after a Mirage 2000 aircraft crashed in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur, the Indian Air Force (IAF) grounded the entire fleet on Monday as the incident comes barely 10 days after a similar crash in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district on February 24.

The aircraft was on a routine training flight when it crashed soon after taking off from the Gwalior air base. Both the pilots ejected safely.

Following the incident, the IAF grounded the entire fleet of Mirage aircraft for a thorough inspection.

In February 24 incident also, both the pilots had ejected safely. An engine flame out was initially reported as the reason behind the crash even as the IAF had ordered a probe.

problem is other mirages are scared to fly they know pilots will escape at time but they will must die .

poor maintenance is main problem and poor quality of spare parts
Indian will receive last upgraded mirage in 2021 that's is too late

Then why didn't that happen to those mig-21?

? Even MiG-21 fighters were grounded when they crashed. It is routine procedure. Grounding is temporary until the cause of the crash is known. Also they don't not affect emergency sorties. Emergency sorties override grounding procedures.

I was wondering about that, are the one that crashed earlier and the this one different models or are they the same?

One thing of sure is that the ejection system is working better than the Mig-21, don't really care that much about the aircraft the pilots are the main concern.

Why India is spending so much money on upgrading these planes?!

Single engine planes that are over 20 years old....

Maybe India should scrap the upgrade deal and buy more off the shelf rafales/ su 30 MKI.
