IAF gifts 1971 war helicopter to Bangladesh, gets F-86 fighter as return gift

Lol IAF could not even take out lone f86 sqd in eastern front when they had mig21 su7 hunters attacking day and night and lost more fights then they could destroy despite numerical and technical advantage.

surrender of enemy and liberation of bangladesh was more important .

Pakistan has given facility to Afghanistan to export to India.
One way transit is not profitable to Afg. Even they have requested 2 way transit. Please help your fellow muslim nation.

Commemorating 50 years of defeating Pakistan in the 1971 war, Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief RKS Bhadauria gifted a legacy Alouette III helicopter to Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) and got a legacy F-86 Sabre aircraft as a return gift from Dhaka.

"To mark the Golden Jubilee of 1971 War of Liberation, IAF chief RKS Bhadauria gifted a legacy Alouette III helicopter to the Bangladesh Air Force. Bangladesh Air Force chief too gifted an F-86 Sabre aircraft that had been restored by BAF after the 1971 war. Both legacy aircraft will find a place of pride in museums on both sides," IAF stated in a tweet.

The exchange of aircraft took place in Dhaka during the four day trip of Bhadauria to Bangladesh where he visited different airbases and interacted with the top military leadership of that country.

India and Bangladesh are celebrating 50 years of the liberation war in which the Pakistan Army was thrown out of Bangladesh and 90,000 of their troops were made to surrender.

A number of events are being organised by both countries to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the decisive war.

good memories .

Heartening to see rising bonhomie with BD. Obviously some obvious people are burning with jealousy. They don’t realise that they lost their chance 50 yrs back. Claim that BD was always a different nation, different language and culture etc etc is nothing but post facto attempt to give a pat on the back themselves.

BD and India are bound to up this game and would bring some peace and stability in this region.

lmao a Gurhka, slaves to the british, slaves to the indians. you people are bunch of ***-licking people.
Seems that you have never come across a Gurkha ever.

One of the most honest, brave and loyal people anywhere. There is a saying in one of the Gurkha Unit, that translates to “ Better die than being a coward”. Field Marshal Sam Manikshaw had once said that “if a person says that he is not scared of death then either he is lying or a Gurkha”. These haven’t happened by chance but earned over centuries of valour and bravery.

So don’t go into a racist rant like this just to satisfy your baseless and bigoted beliefs.

Wide off the mark comments, do your research or go back to the school for something called education.
Comes from a guy with double affirmation in his sentence
eh?
please pick up a map

bengaldesh was simply not porrly defended as pakistan thought india will not attack bengladesh..guess they didnt count in a civil war

f104 were never sent over to bengladesh
Had they listened to Mujib in 65-70 Pakistan could have avoided a naval blockade and have strong air defence in the east. Indians had tons of problems trying to push in through rivers and marshes
You can certainly destroy what is on the ground. If Isreal can destroy half of Arab fleet on the ground in first 24 hours of the 6 day war then IAF should have destroyed 12 or so lone PAF sqd with Mig-21 Su-7 and hunter squadrons that they had pitched against East pakistan.

and did modi g told u this f-104 story?
Truth be told I read it years ago hence why I couldn’t recollect the numbers of f104 mentioned
But now I can’t find the source. Weird.
read it in a soviet archive

LMAO, if they are so great how come Nepali kingdoms didnt invade india.

Speaking of coward, give me British army equipment and i can take on 200 taliban alone, actually anyone can take on rag-tag taliban who have no bulletproof vest and and use a cloth for a helmet.

So this is the F-86 that Bangladesh is gifting to Indians. Even in 1970 it wasn't operational and probably being cannibalised by PAF for spares, however Bangladeshis have done a good job as DRDO to bring the aircraft back into some form.

I did not know Soviets actively participated in 1971 war. I thought they only sent their navy in Bay of Bengal to scare off America and British.

I read in an article long ago that Russian pilot participated in combat. Can't find anything on internet though to share here. But they did participate in mine clearance operation.

@Joe Shearer know anything?

Maybe India should gift something to lower the pain for those Behari's who were butchered and massacred by the Mukthi bahini terrorists.

Maybe you should resume the repatriation process which you stopped after taking 1 lakh Behari. After all they are in this pathetic state cause you left them here even though they fought and died for you. 😏 Somehow you can give citizenship to Afghan refugees and 200000 Bangladeshis but can't take back 500000 Biharis. 😏

How about you tell your govt to gift something to these Biharis or pay us the Tk 18,000 crore money you owe us before telling India to gift something. 😏

Why even celebrate a war victory won by deceit and foul play? Shows that our enemies has no dignity and integrity. Head-on and the result will always be like February 27.

OH MY GOOOOODDDD!!! 😂😂😂😂 A Pakistani is taking about deceit, foul play, dignity and integrity whose govt didn't hand-over power to the winning party, launched Operation Searchlight against unarmed sleeping people in dark and declared war and launched Operation Chengiz Khan against India on 3rd December then loosing miserably against India and freedom fighters.

Same can be said about Kargil war i guess. So keep the ridiculous moral policing to yourself. 😂 😏

Sorry Indians are not worth my time to reply, your should be thankful for this post

But somehow you managed to find time to talk about them in your previous post. :cuckoo::disagree:
