Just few weeks back , IAF with the same Aircraft had rescued 100s of civilians from extreme weather.

Hindus obviously will choose life over aircrafts.

Yes brining in late 90s to feel happy back then NO GPS no TECH to avoid collision. Deep under sanctions. BUT it ok INDIA IS sitting on piles of billions and it can afford such silly mishaps

as per data from 'aviation-safety.net' & 'ejection.co.uk' since January 2012 onwards and till date(today) there have 26 crashes of IAF jets compared to 20 crashes of PAF jets; i.e. a ratio of 1.30:1 now taking into consideration that IAF is at least 1.8x to 2.0x the size of PAF, PAF's crash rate is significantly worse than IAF.

In whole December - January period , IAF carried out more than 23 evacuation missions under very harsh weather conditions to save the lives of around 130 locals and tourists who were trapped in snow and avalanche.

This accident happened in the same period.

Any Indian feeling bad about the lost aircraft , remember it played a part in rescueing " Indians " , who had paid their taxes for it !

Lol , get a airfield at 5000 meters elevation first and then operate your C130s there. It will not take more than 1 flight each to find a accident for those B and H versions.
LOL.....what does all this has to do with when the aircraft was damaged while taxing on the ground.

And before questioning them, find me one example of any Air force operating a transport aircraft with 20 ton load capacity at that heights during rough weather at night ?

aircraft being flown by the commanding officer of the elite 'Veiled Vipers' squadron of IAF has been left badly-damaged after it crashed into a pole and other structures while taxing on the tarmac in the high-altitude Thoise airfield in Ladakh recently.

The IAF, which has kept the incident under wraps till now, refused to say anything on the matter. Sources, however, said the pilots apparently failed to keep the C-130J on the "centreline of the taxiway" after landing at the airfield at an altitude of over 10,000-feet.

"They mistook another line to be the centreline (which provides obstacle clearance) at the airfield which has restricted space for manoeuvre. One of the wings and propeller of the aircraft then hit the pole and some other objects with great impact. Whether the centreline and other lines were marked properly and all other factors are being examined by the CoI," said a source.

At least untill now nothing about night or altitude problem all about pilot error but unfortunatly not by ameture pilot but by a top class pilot
