IAF AN-32 Missing with crew of 29 in Bay of Bengal

ignore the trolls pal, its not worth it, i know we are hoping or the best but we need to get to reality here. now best case scenerio theres a radio problem and its lost communication mid case is that its has crashed but they are suvivors , but i fear the worst here being realistic.

didn't these come back from the urkraine from an upgrade?
and also are these being replaced by the c925 which is supposedly being built by tata?

yes the possibilities are

1) loss of communication
2) Storm
3) malfunction of systems onboard both hw and electronics.

4) Yes upgrade factor is also a crucial one, I have no idea if the upgrades have gone well or not !

5) Yes Airbus also planning to sell C295.

The Navy has sent five surveillance aircraft, including a Dornier, and 13 ships to the region at full speed. The ships are Sahyadri, Rajput, Ranvijay, Kamorta, Kirch, Karmuk, Kora, Kuthar, Shakti, Jyoti, Ghariyal and Sukanya.

Search and Rescue initiated.

2 P-8I and 3 Dornier aircraft were scrambled to assist search operations. Four ships Karmukh, Gharual, Jyoti and Kuthar were diverted to join in the search and rescue at full speed. More assets being dispatched shortly

2 coast guard ships also pressed for Search and Rescue.

8 naval bureau, 3 air force , 4 coast guard, 6 crew, 8 emergency ppl came in last minute - that's approx breakup of 29 personnel. Last 8 details still being ascertained ...

Main issues
  1. Bad weather led rough sea
  2. Daylight time being limited
These two possess the biggest challenges.

Floating debris spotting or even life craft spotting would be a challenge. GPS and instrumentation transponder /emergency beacon may help us pinpoint location

It's basically 4 hours of window available for search and rescue for daylight point of view post which ships will use search lights ..
I said about bad weather and things don't look so positive at all
IMD shows adverse weather conditions prevalent in the region

It's gonna be very rough sea so even spotting life jackets or crafts would be a big challenge

An-32's maximum fuel capacity is four hour flying, Plane missing since morning no news of emergency landing or contact:( now its time to pray for those who are on-board on unfortunate flight.

Officials said it was a "courier flight" with service personnel on board.

Search area is 200 nautical miles south southeast of the coast of Chennai ..

Flight is routine in nature with basically personnel and documents..

At take off weather was fine..so post 15 mins post take off only issues cud be
  1. Weather isaue but take off weather was fine. In case weather is an issue pilots would have returned. The point of no return is basically 300 nautical mile from Tambaram so it's well within the point of no return in case pilot wanted to come back.
  2. Worst case scenario structural failure as altitude was very high at the point of disappearance
  3. Engine failure would have still not created issues as its twin engined and with single engine landing is very much possible
  4. Aircraft is capable of floating during emergency landing if its soft landing
  5. Technical reason like system failure or part failure.. audit of part history and repair started.
Speculations says a violent reaction from inside of the aircraft to show such a massive drop and perhaps rudder disintegration and loss of control surface and pilots did not have time to react.

Only black box can define what's the real issue and why it happened.

Flight started around 8 am with four hour flying fuel so plane can fly up to 12 pm means possible crash happen around that time and probably very close to its destination.

Apparently they went down in inclement weather and that too without a call. Can it be a sever case of lightening hitting the plane? What kind of weather radar these aircraft have if any and any transponder installed on board these? Hoping for the best that crew and passengers are still alive as aircraft can be replaced by human life can not be though my worst fear is with reportedly high tide, bad weather and low visibility in the area, not only it wud be difficult for the rescue team to find debris any time soon but sadly chances of survival of the crew is very less. Condolences to the grieved families.

99 degree and 151 nautical miles away from Tambaram base when in 09:12am radar lost contact completely ..
