Railways is improving day by day. No doubt about that !

.
Lets see if he quits if PR deficit is not reduced!

What if he plays with the numbers? And instead of loosing 500 PKR under him the Railways only loses 499.9 PKR?

Technically.....

You cant change a culture by just changing the man/woman on top. You got to change the mid and lower level management with it. Even then....

. .
I think Mr saad is trying his level best to make PR stand on its own feet.

Lets see if he is successful in doing that.

Fare are reduced by 15 to 25 % on almost all the routes for passengers. I think his policies are taking PR in right direction.

. .
He needs to focus more on cargo trains than passenger trains to overcome deficit

All NATO containers should be transported via train, this will generate easy revenue for PR!

Reducing deficits is not enough. We need to start generating profit from the Railways

Reduce fairs and commercial freight charges to the extent where people would want to shift back to Railways.

It costs about 100,000 - 120,000 rupees for transportation charges from Karachi to Gujrat for one large 40 feet container. That is about 1300 kilometres away. If Railways could do the job for 60,000 rupees... Why people wouldn't want to save 40,000 rupees.

Bhai - Trains don't run over roads.

Train track is laid from karachi port to Peshawar! From peshawar to kabul via trucks. It also goes to Quetta-chaman border.

PR is already transporting NATO Containers!

There was a time when they use to take rice from my village to karachi. But then they started to steal rice from the sealed container and all the rice mills shifted to transporting their good by road.

They also have to increase check and balance coz no one likes to use a service which does not provide security for their product.

ps: NLC have leased trains from PR and they are running their own frieght train service.I also heard they are going to purchase 8 or 10 new engines for their service.

Its because PTI is not running the railways, else it would have been all praises here.

That will take due time. Railway suffers from chronic fundamental problems, something which can't be cured overnight.
