All this time losers(hint: from neighbouring country) have been arguing with me about total size of BD GDP.

I have been saying for ages that BD GDP is now around 180 billion dollars and the IMF confirms this as it puts BD GDP at 187 billion dollars for this year and GDP/capita at nearly 1200 dollars.

By 2019, it predicts BD GDP to surpass 300 billion dollars and the economy will be growing at a healthy 7% a year 2017-2019.

The time will be soon when BD uses it's economic muscle to build a lethal military to confront any bullying.:guns:

I was actually going to give you a proper reply but the bold part compels me to add this..... Heck, even Mumbai's GDP is 210 billion $

On topic: Congratulations Bangladesh. Seems parting with West Pakistan was good after all as I foresee BD overtaking Pakistan economically in next 5 years.

Please provide a reliable source that confirms nominal GDP for Mumbai is 210 billion dollars. GDP PPP does not count here as we are talking about nominal figures.

Nice BD!!

But remember predictions can change.

Pakistan was predicted to be in the top 15 economies of the world by 2050 in 2006.
Now it's predicted to be in top 25

Iraq was predicted to be developed country with large per capita by 2050. Now look at Iraq.

India was predicted to be growing at 10% for 10 years . Now look at India growing at 5.5%

So, predictions are never a good argument

Don't think so, we will hop back in 2 years max.

Besides, BD population is 150 million with less Loadshedding and less political and social problems Pakistan has. Is it a suprise their growing faster than us or predictions are saying they will overtake?

.

Dude, stop quoting fake statistics.

Mumbai has a population of just over 12 million. For it to have a GDP in nominal terms of 210 billion dollars, then that would make nearly 18,000 dollars/capita. Any city in the world with that kind of GDP would look developed.

As an example of cities with that kind of GDP/capita then look at cities like Kuala Lumpur or Ankara, and Mumbai is miles behind them.

I hope that Pakistan recovers and grows strongly but it is possible to BD to catch up with Pakistan in GDP/capita before the end of this decade. The difference between the two is now only 200 US dollars.

Mumbai is the dirtiest city on Earth, along with Delhi. Anyone who tells you average person earns 18000 per capita need a smack on their face.

Mumbais 1% are what influences the per capita. Average person in India only makes 75 rupees a day, average person in Mumbai must make around 25

Bangladesh is a brother country, we have no jealousy for Bangladesh as Indians assume. I know BD will eventually catch up as its country is stronger... But this is just 2014z

The biggest threat to Bangladesh is India. India wants weak neighbours, economically and militarily.

If Bangladesh starts to develop economically, India might flood Bangladesh which will cause untold economic damage.

You are 100% correct!

It is because of India that BD is not more developed now.

Think why would a country like BD, located in a relatively peaceful region and with one major ethnic group, have so many political problems. India does not want BD to get too strong for it's own interests. But the Indians cannot destroy BD's economy openly as it would destroy their influence in the country for good.

bangladesh needs homogeneity in society. Bangladesh should govern their country through islamic law, take any gulf country as model and i can gurantee we will see next burj khalifa in BD.
