Hello I have a friend in Tehran I would like to visit. I have a few questions and not sure who else to ask and where so thought I'd post it here.

When is the best time of year to visit? Any recommended hotels? Which places should I avoid?

Thanks for answering :)

There are variuos hotels in Tehran, depending how much you want to spend.

Here you can have a list of hotels. If you want good quality hotels, I recommend Espinas hotel and Parsian Azadi hotel.

Best time to visit Tehran is March and April, as the weather is great and the whole city is green. Now it's getting hot in days, nearly 40 degrees.

There are no specific places you should avoid, if you mean in terms of safety, since the city is safe overall. Your friend can guide you better specifically in terms of suggestions.

I recommend also visiting Tehran museums, like Jewelry Museum, which is the most valuable collection of Jewelry in the world, or Iran's national museum, with one of the biggest collections in its kind in the world.

Have a good and safe trip. And prepare yourself for a hot weather. :D

Plus you can ask @LoveIcon who is living in Tehran for years. Do not limit your journey only to tehran visit other cities and beautiful places in Iran too. a liitle search on internet can help.

I also invite you to my home for one day if u can.

At end @LoveIcon can give best help to you.

Today I see many Pakistani tourists in Iran.

After Chinese, Arabs, Europeans and Indians you are the most.

I am seriously amazed and impressed by the history and depth of Iranian culture. I have read so many books on Iran that i can almost feel the sights and places.

God willing one day, I shall visit too

Stay just a few days in Tehran, and try to go to other cities. Look at this way, when we have major week long holidays in Iran (like the Iranian New Year), Tehran is the only major city in Iran that becomes LESS crowded! Because everyone goes to other cities.

For history buffs, Shiraz is a must. For nature freaks, go north.

Iran is indeed a beautiful country, with lot of history not to mention the food is also amazing. Note one thing that you might face difficulties getting visas for several european and few asian countries after visiting Iran. But still all my friends who visited it loved the place.

don't stay in tehran . it's great for 5-6 days but when you have finished going to the national museum and historical sites and these kinda places , tehran is yet another skyscraper filled gigantic city where rich people like @Serpentine roam :D lol

i strongly recommend Isfehan and Shiraz , i'll be a deep loss if you visit Iran and don't go to these cities .

after that i recommend northern cities like mazandaran and rasht for their weather and if you're a beach fan

Depending on your budget There are many packages I can recommend... So, first you tell us how much money you are intending to spend in Iran and how many days and nights...

The safest bet overally is to spend 3 to 4 days and nights in Tehran then head North to Either Chalous-Ramsar-Anzali beaches or Babulsar-Chalous-Ramsar-Lahijan .... you can spend another 5 to 6 days up North and head back south to leave Via IKA airport in Tehran.

You give me your exact days and nights and your exact budget and the most important, your geniune reason to visit Iran... what are you looking for exactly? What is your climax of joy in such trips?... so I can suggest a few packages... have fun
