What's new

I want to put Pakistan football on the world map: Graham Roberts

We have alot of hidden gems waiting to be discovered in football ...
@ grassroots level we need grounds ...with a clear warning 'no cricket here'.
@ higher levels good coaches , sponsors , club structures etc.
all this with the help of media will start football frenzy in Pakistan ..especially after cricket team is viewed with suspision now (cheats ) .
Surprisingly alot of football players have their background from the remote corners of Balochistan .

. .
Seriously the only reason i follow cricket is because Pakistan play it. Otherwise cricket cant even come close to the thrill of football, just wish football was our passion instead of cricket. Dont know how much change the new coach can actually bring, still lets be optimistic.

.
you have no clue about what it takes to get to a WC semi final. China with all its organizational skill and money can't even make it to the WC on a regular basis.

sport requires passion, talent and hard work not money. Take Ghana for example; they could have gotten to the semi finals, maybe they might have won! despite the lack of money.

.
we are a sporty nation i have noticed the changing trend in newer generation that they are more keen on footi than cricket .. it wil be dream come true for lot of us if pak plays in WC in the coming years ..

. . . .
Very simple....
Just write Pakistan football on your home's world map. Otherwise you will have to take rebirth many times for that.

.
remove ricket, bring football, nobody likes cricket after recent treatments

strange....I hate the ICC but I love Cricket :smitten:
We should have a national cricket league, like the US has with basketball.

.
Who said we never took part in FIFA WC, except the last WC the footballs used in these world cups were all made in Pakistan.

How Ironic is that a major hand made football producer cant feed his own team.

It is not going to happen until or unless the change will come in providing basic infrastructure…….luckily we don’t need a specific environment to play cricket and that is one of the main reason we are producing quality cricketers til date……hockey and football unfortunately needs AstroTurf and grass grounds to play with……playing football on hard surface has blunted the art of our football players……..keeping the ball in control is impossible on hard surface because every time ball touches the ground, it bounces and so you cannot dribble or dodge, the core of art……...secondly, our local players mostly play with very hard ball, i.e., 500 plus g (410–450 g is international standard), making it impossible to “head” the ball………now imagine, you cannot dribble, cannot dodge and cannot “head” the ball and only thing left is to kick it……..and this is exactly what you will find if you ever witnessed a Pakistani local match.

A school Head Master watched hi student playing football and asked the Game Teacher why so many boys are fighting for a single ball. Please provide everyone a ball.

An old joke but the Head Master was a visonary. If you need the kids to develop the basic skill very well, everyone of them need a ball. The more time a kid spends with a ball, the better will be his ball control and dribbling skill. If you love football donate ball to the kids who play football on the street. Scientific training, coaching etc can be provided later. But the first thing to have some passionate kids who even go to sleep with their footballs.

As this topic is on football....can anyone tell me what is offside...anyone?

.
If you get a pass from your team-mate and you do not have atleast two opponent players in front of you when your team-mate had releaed the ball you are in off side.

Remember , it is when your team mate had releaed the ball. I f you move forward after your mate releaed it you are not off side even if you do not have anyone infront of you then.

If you are in off sside position and you received ball from your opponent...then it will not be considered offside.
