I want to make an investigation:How much is your Internet connection speed?

net speed

I'm also curious about internet speeds and tariffs around the world, please list your FUP/speed and tariffs if you can.

as heavy user in terms of downloading, hd movies, games etc (it often crosses 100gig/month) I'm kinda forced to stick to the lower end of the speed deals, the faster plans are not only pricier but offer a ridiculously small amount of data before they snip you down to dial up age, speed wise, and then rip you further with these small overpriced data packs

so currently on around 3200 inr/month for 2mbps/175 gig.. probably upgrade to a 4 mbps plan in the next cycle for increased FUP to 250gig for 300 or so inr more.

how do plans in Pakistan, china, the US etc compare ?

No its quite low here compared to US where they charge a lot. Plus the FUP is quite good :)

Are you ok ?? Try breathing open air :)
Im living in bangalore now....
My service provider is Tikona(wireless)....
Connecting speed is 4mbps, they say....:)..i usually get around 2-3.5mbps....
There are other providers here with 40 -100mbps...but im happy with what i have now....
The price tag is 1400rs per month...25$s....Limit 90gb...after that 512kBps...

Your description remind me of the dreadful childhood ruled by 512KB/2M
By the way,I have been playing computer games since 4 years old,but it is still fresh and alive in my mind.
As if the endless death by fire, and it often stop,I could only stare at the"40kb/s→20kb/s→0kb/s"
WTF,what a terrible authoritarian.

the Sate Council publish a document(2013):popularize
(2015)
100M in some developed city(all capital in all province I think)
20M in normal city
4M in village(but now most is 6M,overfulfilled)
(2020)
1G
100M(50%) 50M(50%)
12M

the cable company I use sucks.. they had been very good but now they shrink my speed when they want to.. sometimes its just 300 kbytes / sec.. or they cut of "filesharing" even if it is used for backups etc to 10 kbytes / sec its a pain in the..
german flatrates are no real flatrates after 10 GB a day this cable company has the right to shrink the speed.. they say its actually configured about 60 gb but that is a lie..

sometimes I have full speed sometimes 10 times less there is no real alternative if I go to German telecom than they would sell me 50M Internet connection but it would not be possible to use it because the hardware of their infrastructure cannot provide this it must be something between 8 and 16 M in real but they sell 50 M thats germany.. and the Telekom is just a bunch of bandits.. if you sign in there is no easy way out.. they forgot your new home adress , they say yes on telefone but no on paper.. they try to install second internet connection but for their failures you have to pay money.. they try to bleed you out before you leave.. so I have to live with the cable company who lie to me but are nice to me sometimes I do not have to pay when they do little mistakes...

50m Internet with telefone costs ~32 EUR

I'm in bangalore. I told that I want to disconnect and they offered me retention plan. People should try this, Airtel will definitely offer some retention plan.

Yup, they pretty much offer you the moon when you threaten to quit their network. Anyone with Airtel should certainly try that out.

thanks, think I'll try this, what a bunch of crooks :tsk:

Full limit?
free usage policy, where you can consume a fixed amount of data after which they cut your speed drastically.

peak speed is 10-20 mbps and slowest speed is <100 kbps :hitwall:
But its free.. :dance3:

I though 1000 M is only provided by Google Fiber :3 as no other company has been able to achieve it.
