Asking army to play politics is treason, remember that. Army is duty bound to do as they are told by the civilian leadership, for better or worse.

If they disagree, the generals can resign, but to interfere in favour or against the leadership is treason in no uncertain words. Whoever wrote this thread was suggesting treason.

And yes, the only reason I can say all this is because my country has free speech, free judiciary, free media (Biased media, yes, but free media. Bias is both pro and anti govt). I would not say any of this if I were in pakistan.

Here is one compromise with which majority of the public will be happy:

1) Imran govt goes - BUT

2) All the corrupt like Maal Lau Na Fazlu, Sharif clan, Zardari clan are put in jail, huge recoveries of looted public funds are made from them and judiciary is purged from corrupt.

Even IK will be absolutely fine with that. Win-win for all!

By now Imran Khan should know how the system works. If the status quo is impossible to change then he should move to Britain and live with his sons. He’s popular there and can get elected to the British parliament. He would do more service to Pakistan by blocking that Indian, Rishi Sunak, from becoming the PM of GB.

What’s the point of hanging on to power if he can’t do anything? That’s been his excuse—that the system doesn’t allow him to do anything. E.g. Karachi is permanently in the control of Zardari gang.

One thing is clear. The current system is not working. It’s madness to think that going round and round in circles will somehow magically solve Pakistan’s problems.

If he can really break the status quo and do some whole-scale reforms, like switching to a presidential system, then he should stay. Otherwise he should leave and let the generals and their favorites—NS, Zardari etc. run the country.

Best assessment of the status quo I've seen.

IK should cut the losses and move on. Recently came back from Pakistan and it's a lost cause to say the least, our awaam doesn't deserve anyone of IK's stature.

Let the awaam and their beloved thug politicians and generals run this country further into ground.

Be nice to him. He is right. Why else people like Arnab Goswami can say the 5th floor of Serena when the building is only 2 floors tall. It's the freedom of media, freedom of fake news.

Dear Sir,

Having no direct way to reach you, we are putting down the feelings of all patriotic Pakistanis here. Hope this reaches you and you understand what we Pakistanis, the true patriots want. Sir, we have suffered the biased and selfish attitude of the U.S, IMF, EU, FATF, India and Israel for decades. PM Imran Khan is our last hope. A true patriot and an honest leader. For the sake of a respectful and free life, pls do not get soft with these western powers. We the patriots living in Pakistan and overseas stand with our PM. Yes! we all do not want US bases here, we don't want anymore dictations from the U.S. Yes! we are in favor of taking no more dictations from the U.S or EU. Yes! we want strengthened relations with our neighbors, which PM Imran Khan is making efforts towards.

Sir, the country cannot afford any single politician from this old lot of corrupt criminals and scoundrels, who have had enough chances and they have always let down Pakistan. We are putting down the real feelings of the supporters of Khan Khan sb and all patriotic Pakistanis around the globe, who don't sell their votes for few rupees or a plate of biryani, we keep true feelings for our country like our leader. Once PM Imran Khan comes out of this western backed paid opposition created situation victoriously, In Shaa Allah, we want introduction of the Chinese model of government here so as to eliminate all traitors, the corrupts, and mafias. Let's leave a cleaner, progressive, corruption free, safe and peaceful Pakistan for our children.

There is another thing called Army act.. which every soldier takes oath of and which not only says them to stay away from politics but also that they will show allegiance to Pakistan and uphold constitution that embodies will of the people. Which means if the pm or president starts towing Interest of enemy or an outsider and not that of the people then the constitution defacto stands compromised and the military can suspend it and play its role to get a certain loophole in it fixed.

What you are missing is that he got an extension from someone he selected to become PM. I saw everything with my own eyes.

Seriously, you do not get to say what you said & suppose that COAS has some magical extra-constitutional powers that put him at par with Supreme Leader as we see in Iran. NOBODY GAVE HIM THE AUTHORITY TO DO AS YOU SAY. This has been a recipe for disaster & we've seen it MULTIPLE times.

you can try to debunk the army act instead of telling what I can say. When did I say its coas... it can be multiple people including coas.
States can run without a constitution states can survive without it but states can not survive without a central power that retains regardless who is in power. the authority is yielded from a highly conscious group of a country that is actively involved in affairs of the state..
