I feel proud in scoring goals against Pakistan Danish Mujtaba
For 22-year-old Indian hockey team player from Uttar Pradesh Danish Mujtaba, a match against arch-rivals Pakistan is something he really looks forward to and whenever such an occasion arises, he loves to score a goal against Pakistan. Danish is elated because he blasted a goal against Pakistan and that too during the final of the Asian Champions Trophy in which India triumphed 4-2 through penalty shootout.
Talking to The Indian Express, Danish said, Sabse achchi baat thi ki Pakistan ke khilaf goal mara. (The best thing was that I scored a goal against Pakistan). Emotions run high during such matches. I am very happy with the way we played in the final. The team was confident because of its performances in the matches before that. During the penalty shootout in the final though I was confident but at the same time I told myself that I should concentrate and make no mistake. I am happy to have scored the goal for my country. I enjoyed equally the goal I scored against Pakistan in the last league match.
Danish who is a sports officer with the UP Power Corporation, said, I feel proud that I have scored against Pakistan both at the junior and the senior level. I remember the goal I scored against Pakistan during the Commonwealth Games last year.
The talented forward said that the teams morale is high after the Asian Champions Trophy triumph. It was a young team and we approached the tournament with confidence which paid off. Our next targets are the Champions Challenge and then the Olympic qualifiers next year. Our coach Michael Nobbs always tells us never to think negative, Danish explained.
