What's new

I Dislike Generals more than all our enemies combined

some generals not all some bad eggs in military need to be kicked

that maybe true but all generals want to keep them above the law, they commit crimes and hide behind Army own judicial system.

But the good thing came out of General bajra's adventure is that it open our eyes. When they removed Benazir and Nawaz, everyone said its obvious they are corrupt and our army is the savior. But general Bajra f'ed big time and removed IK who still was the most popular and honest leader Pakistan got after Jinnah...this opened our eyes that generals are not for Pakistan but for themself.

well, Pakistanis shouldn't suffer from Stockholm syndrome, they should go out and do something about it seriously, persistently and wholeheartedly. That is the only way out. Some here are referring to Indian caste system. Indians are still medieval in their thinking and conduct. Wait for the time when Indian really become powerful, there would be hell for all neighbouring countries. These evil shitters would be far worse than USA mark my words. It is good thing they are cowards by nature otherwise, they would have already started to make our lives hell. But don't be misguided it is already strted to happen, albeit verbally. Recently one commander or IA threatened to take over Pakistani northern areas by force.
As for our "Barhamins" uniformed or otherwise, equality would mean death to their privilages. Just imagine, could Sharifs have survived without privilages restored to them by the Uniformed after every few years, and all their sins, theft, criminality is forgiven!! The slate is wiped clean so they can come back and legally loot Pakistan again!!
Who does that!! Not someone who is loyal and love their country. But only those who are traitors and are working against their own country for their fistsfull.

Bajwa has done all Pakistanis a favour, he had stripped PA generals naked. There is no doubts anymore in the minds of intelligent people, what is happening and who is responsible. Whatever is left would be destroyed in Arshad Sharif case. His Question "wo kon tha" is answered emphhaticcally in his death tragedy.
Wake up, wise up, smel the coffee. You have the chance now, it is now or never. You got IK and some of his party members, like Swati etc. who are standing up and exposing the whole system day by day. There are some handful journalists who speak the truth. Imagine, how the remaining jounralists lied to Pakistanis all their lives and still lying ot them.
Freedom is deserved for only those who are brave enough to snatch it from their enemies.

Pakistan never won a war, never had a war of independence, and got everything handed down to it on a silver platter by the British. Can’t expect anything from a country with that kind of history!

It's the system they are sucked into, being a security state make their working easy, the Generals generally cares for the Army as an institution, outside that institution is a vast hinterland for them, to graze and plunder and lesser mortals, the civilians, the midgets crawling there.

So it's the 'System'.

And if you ask any three star General, almost all of them will reply that the regime change operation was a 'strategic compulsion' and done for the benefit of Pakistan. They will never accept the truth and will never acknowledge the mistake done, will not retreat and retrospect.

Again it's the sytem which is designed in this way.

This is the list of serving generals in the Pakistan Army. Currently, the Army has 2 Generals, 29 Lieutenant Generals, and 198 Major Generals.

Wrong my friend, Pakistanis or more correctly Muslims of the subcontinet were fighting the war of Independence right from 1857. The Brits called it mutiny. I know because my family had been directly involved from the time. From war to education like "Aligarh Muslim University", by money, by man power, by willingness. Jinnah came later, and very late. But the fire was ignited by others who kept it ablazed.
Pay attention to my signature, you may understand a bit.

Our problems are intense.
Our own people’s lust for more and more plots, bigger cars and houses, bigger protocols and facilities is our undoing!
We were given a country to live under islamic rule/sharia but our people want the liberal/western lifestyles and goodies. Corruption literally, morally where everyone is like “ ye sab aise he chalta ha bhai” type justifications….can’t even teach sense to our ppl, try it, its like talking to brick wall. We refuse to move from 1950s mentality.

Shit is evident in daily life. Its fucked.(our society and how it function). Total clusterfuck

Is anyone else starting to feel the same, it's like a house rat or some shit, like finding a bad friend is worse than a cruel enemy
I see our country and I just can't understand why are we poor, like I can't understand it except for someone literally keeping you down
or am I being emotional - it's elite capture but they are getting all the blame?

Over the past 6 years, they changed PM's like underwear, all the elite class is with PDM while the country is on the other side, almost unanimous

So wouldn’t you want the guy that was giving us stability? We are going to be bankrupt.
Which stability are you on about exactly? He was the architect of breaking the bank. Seeing the writing on the wall when the VONC move became imminent, Imran Khan embarked upon a journey of breaking the bank (dismantling all fiscal discipline and sabotaging the IMF program whose conditions his own government agreed to, thereby junking Pakistan's credibility with its most important lender and the lender of last resort). While the world was beginning to ration fuel supplies and raise energy costs to dampen the demand for fossil energy in the face of rampaging energy prices, your paragon of stability for his political self-interest slaughtered the national interest encouraging more consumption by subsidizing power consumption (energy subsidies) and lowering the fuel prices. The result was forex reserves burning at a quickening pace, swelling circular debt (government subsidies are one of the major reasons for piling up of circular debt). The first foundation for that bankruptcy was laid by the guy who was giving you sTaBiLiTy!

Unfortunately, cause and effect are lost on PTI partisans just like PML N partisans. For them causes are always the other party and never their own demigod leaders.

Indeed, but all the housing that is being built currently and is being approved is simply high-end luxury vanity estates that are out of reach of 99.5% Pakistani's. Tax on these vanity projects will never be introduced because 1. Half of the government (regardless of party) consists of the Real-estate mafia 2. GOP, Military views these projects as a quick and easy way to earn $$$ on basis of overseas Pakistani's dumping money.
I think there are only two models for affordable housing that have worked in the past.
1) Commie blocks or some govt organized housing projects (like Turkey for example) -these actually make sense for us as govt would be able to plan public transportation too and plan these out better.
2) high taxes on real estate - prices fall. People only invest as much as they can rent it out for. This sorta works in Texas for example. Housing is affordable.

The reason that we have to import food now has more to do with how agricultural products are priced internally and discriminatory water pricing that feeds the input to agriculture. The feudals get access to water at unreasonable prices that they waste growing water intense crops like rice and sugar that actually decrease our overall GDP as we don’t have water to grow less intense crops that could feed us. Fix the pricing issue (free market) and fix the water pricing issue and you solve this in literally a couple of years.
It surely has to do with what you said, but also fertile arable land being gulped by speculative forces who sap the economy of its productive capacity, and encourage imports and consumption rather than an addition of value/wealth creation.

Do you think that agricultural land should be allowed to be gulped?

When population cannot trust its own military it is a sad state. Regardless of type of grouping such distrust of leadership occurs in any group that lacks identity. Mostly it is chaotic but in rare occasions it can be useful.

Until paks decide who they are different 'leader' groups will find it easy to gain power through 'momentum' plays. It was anto-bengali for sometime, then anti-India, then anti-west, anti-infidel, etc etc. They tried to be like Mike. Be like Arabs, be like Americans, now trying be like CCP. Half baked researchers through historical archeological scriptural genealogical pseudo evidence to support the assumption du jour.

This too shall pass. Then comes the anti-china play.

No young Pakistanis like me have not accepted anything. If you have a problem with land grabbing, that’s good. You can increase local tax on real estate. Introduce Texas like laws. Problem will resolve itself. This is a case of elite capture for sure.

But developing and building new housing that can accommodate our growing population is also important and needed. Just should be done in a more intelligent manner.
Studies show that Pakistan does not even have a housing problem as Imran Khan would have you believe so his ATMs could be awarded cushy contracts. What Pakistan has is a "quality" housing problem. How many affordable housing units were constructed under his tenure? He gave amnesty to the real estate sector that engaged in speculation to drive the land prices upwards making it a dream for lower middle-income groups to own a new roof of their own in urban Pakistan. Why do people not see the dichotomy between action and words?
