MAILSI: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has clearly stated he would not be writing the letter to Swiss authorities to reopen corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.

Gilani added that he was willing to face the six month imprisonment sentence for contempt of court. Speaking during a rally in Mailsi the

Prime Minister repeated what he had said earlier while speaking to students in Bahawalpur.

The prime minister reiterated that writing the letter would be in violation of article 6 of the constitution which was treason and carried the death sentence.

Gilani said that if he did not write the letter he would be sentenced to six months imprisonment for contempt of court.

Prime Minister Gilani further said he could leave politics but could not betray the PPP adding that he was the Prime Minister and not a peon.

Will not write letter to Swiss authorities: PM Gilani - The News

Funny how this is panning out. The system in Pakistan seems heavily skewed with the executive seemingly the weakest link, being bullied by both the military & the Judiciary can't be much fun. In India, the chances that the Supreme Court would threaten the PM with contempt would be remote bordering on the unthinkable.

So this constitution must be declared null and void. It got two contradicting claws.. Amendments? To be honest, constitutions are just a mere piece of paper. Logic matters the most and according to logic, PM must follow the orders of SC.

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it , or who had said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense. - Buddha

Yousuf Raza Gilani is such disgusting Marasi... fulfilling order of SC is treason?

mentally retard...

Marasi :yahoo:

so this is the mentality of our leaders . they think that they are our masters and we are their slaves
Corrupt people like Gillani and Zardari must be hanged in public .
But who is respomsible for this mentality of our leaders ? answer is we people are responsible we make them feel that they are our masters and we elect these corrupt people again and again and then we complain that they did this and this .
Anyone who vote for these people has no right so say anything against Gillani and Zardari because they themselves responsible for this .

Gilani is making fun of poor people he created by calling himself not a peon.

Gilani is not a peon for sure but he is, legally, and religiously our SERVANT!

Peon is better than gillani, this ugly looser shud be sent to jail asap:angry:

Why bring down Manmohan Singhs government?
I dont have that much problem with my government...
Sure i have some disapproval about the state of affairs...
But not enough to motivate for bringing down the government..
And what do u mean by ground realities?
