we all get upset when we find something offensive.. the difference is the actual reaction... nobody in India died.. and you cant earn crores if thousands of cinemas pull out fearing violence.
That shows how serious the threat is taken.

Killing someone is not acceptable. yet damaging property is another kind of violence isn't it? The point is make religious disrespect a punishable offense and make laws very thoughtfully. So that no innocent gets punished and these situations don't occur.

No, that is giving up your freedom due to threat of violence, in this case hindu thugs. I wont have it any otherway... thankfully these are tiny minority with no arms/guns with them and can be dealt easily by police.
Like I said, cinemas do not want their premises to be ransacked, the fact that thousands of them showing movies inspite of sporadic violence, either shows they are brave, or there is not enough danger of violence.

With strict laws, then some religious Christian zealots would demand that the Quran was banned.
