Ram Subramanian – tired of the politics of hate spewing from the Indian corridors of power – took to social media and posted a simple picture holding a note expressing his true feelings about neighbouring Pakistan. His simple idea has spread like wildfire with thousands of people joining in to spread the same message on social media.

The original post Subramanian put up on the 22nd of October:

What started from Facebook, spilled over to twitter and the number of posts are increasing by the minute. Pakistanis and Indians are using the hashtag #ProfileForPeace to express their love for each other.

The two countries that were once one, the two people who share lineage, want peace and friendship. Political parties however have a different agenda, and continue to keep the two divided.

The following are some of the posts that Indians have put up on social media websites.

#ProfileForPeace : Indian and Pakistani people find brilliant way to hit back hate-mongers

While some uneducated, miserable politicians and extremist organization in India and Pakistan are trying their best to brainwash, provoke people, and preach hate towards other religions and communities, people from both countries have found a way to express what they actually think and feel. India and Pakistan are exchanging messages of peace, love and harmony on social media. A campaign, #ProfileForPeace is attracting huge number of people to send out a clear message to hatemonger. The hashtag was first used by Indian writer, innovator, and an ad film maker, Ram Subramanian in his Facebook post in which he holds a piece of paper in front of his face that says,

I AM AN INDIAN
I AM FROM MUMBAI
I DON’T HATE PAKISTAN
I AM NOT ALONE
THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE LIKE ME!

It was instantly picked up by other people and IT spread to Pakistan. From Pakistan people responded with same tolerance. They are simply posting their pictures with either piece of paper or edited image that repeats the same message. Thanks to social media that has given a neutral platform for people. Otherwise, mainstream media rarely report positive news like this one.

Clearly, it’s not the common people who are trying to create communal tension; it’s just corrupt politicians and some organizations.

In times of such distress and chaos, these people have found courage to nullify efforts of religious extremists working to achieve ugly political goals. HW members have also joined the campaign and hope other Himachal people to support it.

Clearly these Indians have not lost any dear ones in a terror act by pakistanis.

These Indian supporters of pakistan clearly have no apathy towards terror victims, soldiers who died and their families.
first of all you come to a pakistani website and criticize pakistan, you use PDF as a platform for your own views, your views are not welcome on here, if you wish to scrutinize pakistan go to baharat raksha.
secondly you have no right to speak about loss of inocence after all over 100,000 innocent kashmiris have been killed in cold blood by your own security forces there, please leave this website and let us get on with our own devices,

These are all cheap stunts. Don't mean a thing. Even this thread has been created by a person who is a declared hate monger. I feel bad that once I had mistaken him for not being one.

Almost all of them hate you down to your core. One should not get carried away by occasional frivolousness.

i am from india and a human, socialist, muslim... i too don't hate pakistan.

Only 5 people from 1.25 billion.

take your sanghi hate elsewhere... preferably to planet pluto.

Paid actors- indians can do anything for 2 seconds of fame-

what is wrong with you, man??
