Hurriyet leaders urge UN to stop killing

Who told you India is afraid to hold plebiscite? Its Pakistan that has refused to fulfil the preconditions necessary for the plebiscite to take place..

Now, my question to you.. Have you ever read the UN Resolutions pertaining to J&K issue?

In order for Pakistan to withdraw it's troops, India must first begin to lay the groundwork for a vote.

After that, yes, Pakistan must withdraw it's troops before the voting takes place. India too though must withdraw most of its troops to the bare minimum.

However, we are still stuck on step 1. Don't know why you are bringing up step 2 at this point. The ball is in India's court. But it has not done anything for nearly 70 years because everyone knows how the plebiscite would turn out.

I just re-read the UN resolution. Have you?

Good.. Now would you please expand on the UN specified measures for “groundwork for a vote" that India must lay before Pakistan can remove her troops..?

There are many things that they can do. But at the very least, they can announce that they are going to hold a plebiscite and give a date.

Ground work preparation was step 5-6....first step without any precondition was for pakistan to remove its illegal occupation on Gilgit, baltistan and occupied kashmir at your side.

Forget groundwork preparations, they haven't even announced that they will hold a plebiscite and provided a date. Why would Pakistan remove its troops if no plebiscite will be held? That was whole point of the UN resolution.

This is not what the resolution says at all. Let India announce the plebiscite first and then tell Pakistan to withdraw its troops.

Perhaps you misread my last post. I'm not asking you about “the things that they can do".. I'm asking you about the things that the UN has ordered them to do.. You said that the UN resolution specified a few actions that India must perform before Pakistani regular and irregular forces start vacating Kashmir. I'm asking you what those “specific actions" were.

This is not what the resolution says at all. Let India announce the plebiscite first and then tell Pakistan to withdraw its troops.

The date of plebiscite was to be announced by an independent UN body, not by India. The “groundwork preparations " were to be done by the UN body, not by India. And both these steps were to be preceded by the removal of all forces by Pakistan and almost all forces by India.

There were four broad steps specified by the UN to be implemented in the said order..

1) Ceasefire
2) Removal of Pakistani forces
3) Partial Removal of Indian forces
4) Plebiscite under UN observation.

The first step went smoothly. Ceasefire came into effect. But then, Pakistani govt insisted that the second step be omitted and they wanted to jump straight to the fourth step i.e. plebiscite. India rejected this and she insisted that the UN resolution should either be followed completely or not at all.
So, Tell me again my friend.. Who refused to follow the UN resolution?

And I answered. Announce that a plebiscite will be held and provide a date.

Answered already. Its not India's obligation to provide a date for plebiscite. That was to be done by the UN.

What I wrote in another thread seems to have lost..may be thread closed. So reposting.

Nobody wants to free Kashmir... Be it India, Pakistan or China. If there is seriousness from any side then
1. Publish a map of Kashmir nation.
2. Supporting countries like Pakistan and China cede their occupied territory to Kashmir.
3. Kashmir gets UN membership
4. Pressurize India to give up their part

It isn't difficult. Rioting can never create a sovereign nation.

To all kashmiri separatist and their supporters, what is the map of Kashmir they seek?

1947-48 time resolutions are not going to work. If we are serious about peace then let Kashmir be a sovereign nation, a buffer zone. But Pakistan needs to take first step.
It will take 5-10 years for this to become reality after first concrete step like publishing a map.
It can't simply be running across Indian occupied parts. For sure some part will be in China too. Pakistan will also have to decide about Skardu etc. This is turn will compel India. I am afraid this is the only possible solution in our life time.
With Islamic terrorism all over the world and otherwise also a below par repo due to extremist views, with a big market as India, nobody will tell India to carve out Sharia Kashmir. This is the fact.

Well the facts remain that this protest was shaping to be a major coup by pakistan/kashmiris against india, there is no doubt about that.People in india including me were getting riled at all the attention it was getting.

But then the attack in NICE has again lulled this protest. And trust me whether muslims are right or wrong does not even matter now,,,its highly unlikely that west including USA and Europe will give any attention to people who are majority muslim and seem to be quite trigger happy and violent.(Not all kashmiris, just the terrorists)

As i mentioned earlier, truth be damned......the image of majority muslim areas/protestors is associated with terrorism. Now they have legit claims on many areas but the means to achieve that has put doubts in the minds of western nations. No western nation would want to play with fire now.

So whats the solution??
Its certainly not guns and bombs or attacks on convoys. The indian state will never let the kashmir land go,if kashmiris want to leave they can go to pakistan.I am 100 pc convinced we can never win their hearts and minds.

why are the drunken ginerals in Pindi, and sayasdan in Islamabad not doing anything about it

What do u propose they do?

How would you control a thousand strong mob throwing stones at you?

On topic: These Hurriyet fellows sit in their homes comfortably, send their children to study abroad, and instigate ordinary Muslims of the valley to pick up guns and go for Jihad.
Tear gas?

. . .
Mob control police can handle worse
Stop kidding seriously,no one wants to kill unless there is no other option.India certainly does not want attention on kashmir by deliberate killing of people.
If that was the plan we would have let other indians settle in and completely diluted the population by now,we did nothing of that nature.Rest assured west is firmly behind us on this especially after the recent terror attacks in various parts of europe. But we did not do it for the sake of democracy and decency.

Now kashmiris donot want our rule, that is clear but we will not cede an inch of land,,,thats very clear too.
