Hundreds of Bangladeshi female workers leaving Saudi Arabia alleging 'dupery, torture'

Unfortunately, that's what you get when you come from a poor country..these women have little choice than to immigrate abroad to seek a better life for their family since its obvious they can't sustain themselves in their home country. This should be a wake up call to leaders of these poor countries who are more often interested in embezzling their country's money and resources for themselves and their family than spreading the country's wealth to the general population.
After all, people should ask themselves why is it that you never find saudis or gulf states citizens doing menial jobs in the West or fleeing abroad for asylum/seeking a better life for themselves and their families ? Simply because they have a good enough life in their home country. Can't say the same for many other countries in the middle east or south Asia unfortunately.
So such news should be a wake up call to these countries leaders and public to come together and Change their country for the best, so we won't be hearing such news again in future.

Saudi faces difficulty in hiring African workers
Over a million housemaid visas issued in Saudi last year
15 May 2017
JEDDAH — Nearly a third of Bangladeshi housemaids enrolled for pre-departure briefing at special training centers in Dhaka do not want to work in the Kingdom, Al-Madina newspaper reported quoting an official source at the Bangladeshi Embassy in Riyadh.

The source said a number of housemaids who have completed training had second thoughts about working in the Kingdom due to a variety of reasons, including the differences in language, customs and traditions.

The source, who did not want to be named, pointed out that the private training centers did not have enough experience in providing pre-departure training to the workers nor did they know about the living conditions in Saudi Arabia.
“They were simply offering training how to make more dough,” he added.

The source said the Dhaka government was planning to establish its own training centers to equip Bangladeshi manpower coming to the Kingdom and to increase the training period from the current 30 days to 90 days.
“All registered housemaids will be obliged to attend the training programs and anyone who fails to complete the period will not be allowed to travel to the Kingdom for work,” he said.

The source said about 50 percent of the Bangladeshi housemaids who actually arrived in the Kingdom refused to work and opted to rerun to their country.

Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, owner of a recruitment office in Jeddah, said the refusal of Bangladeshi housemaids to work in the Kingdom led to an increase in the number of the recruitment requests, further complicating the thorny issue.

“Since the recruitment of housemaids from Bangladesh has started, about 50,000 housemaids were sent back home because they refused to work after arriving in the Kingdom,” he said.

According to Al-Ghamdi, the high rejection rate was because the housemaids were unable to get used to the lifestyle in the Kingdom and could not acclimatize themselves to Saudi customs and traditions.

According to other sources, about 60 percent of work visas issued by the Labor Ministry for housemaids from Bangladesh are gathering dust in the recruitment offices.

They said the recruitment offices in Bangladesh were making this issue extremely difficult by raising their fees and setting impossible conditions.

The arabs are as wealthy if not more wealthy than the westerners. So why is it that the westerners treat people with respect regardless of race, color, ethnicity but the Arabs can't? What is the reason?

There is a saying, you don't get wealthy by giving people money. This logic is what the Arabs apply.

.
Arabs are not Muslims in reality. Read what the Prophet did or advised, and what the Arabs do. They have always been a barbaric race, who did accept Islam under certain circumstances. But, they are without the quality and essence of Islam.

"God Almighty is Kind, and the Prophet imitated Allah's example in its perfection by showing kindness to his servants and all creatures without any regard for their beliefs, color or nationality. The Prophet said: "God is kind and likes kindness in all things" (Bukhari, 6601).

.
Mike, our people also go to Europe, North America, Australia and other western countries. Why don't they get treated like that?

Contrary to the popular "kafir" bashing among Muslims, I have been granted citizenship in Australia, i am employed under equal opportunity without discrimination, i make few times more than the average australian household income. All of that while being treated as an equal citizen. Apart from the occassional racist remarks once in a blue moon in the streets I never faced any other issues, but you can find a few idiots in every country.

Buddy, you are indeed correct. I agree with everything you said.
Western countries are far more tolerant and accustomed to diversity/multiculturalism than most Muslim countries and vast majority of developing countries (so it's not just the saudis/Arabs). So we shouldn't point the finger only towards Arabs /Saudis. So I don't think the two should be compared per se. Since we are developed and our laws and society have evolved with time and laws against such abuses are inforced to limit this becoming 'acceptable /standard practice' as well.
I believe KSA /Arab countries( and even most developing countries) attitudes will also change with time for the better as they continue to interact /mix more and more with others :)

However, having said that, you can't control the actions of other countries citizens/government, so you can only change what is in your control. So these poor countries leaders and public ought to come together to change their country for the best, else there's nothing much they can do once their citizens flee abroad and don't get the treatment they expected. The blame lies with the leaders(who for the most part don't really care about their people, more about their wealth and power ) first and foremost. Sad truth. World is not a fairy tale unfortunately.

What are those women doing there even after Bangla became a Super Power?
Now don't dump your supa pawa obsession on us. Supa pawa and regional pawa you guys go for these titles. Bangladesh should remain Bangladesh and far faaaaar away from those complexes

.
So we shouldn't point the finger only towards Arabs /Saudis.
So, do you really expect, among all the nations of the world, the Saudis will ever develop in a fine thinking and fine talking human beings? There is absolutely no such prospect. Make a graph and see how far their human qualities have developed during the last 1,500 years. I do not see any. They were bad when they were poor, and now, they are worse when they are rich.

That's a bit too far man, the way your describing it is as if it's some sort of genetic problem and Saudis are physically dispossessed to be cruel and barbaric, which just isn't true. There are plenty of sane, normal Saudi Arabians, it's just that a mixture, of culture, excessive wealth and power and a willingness to turn a blind eye by many nations which has led these women to suffering.

You mentioned one good point I wanted to mention earlier. i.e wealth
I have noticed this in a many countries I have studied or visited. People often tend to get more resentful towards 'foreigners/immigrants' as they get wealthy. Seems it's goes hand in hand and it's even more prevalent in developing countries who have witness very rapid or 'sudden' wealth (sometimes due to discovery of natural resources or other factors). Look no further than S. Africa where black south Africans have become xenophobic and resentful towards their own Black African brothers from other sub saharan African countries who have migranted to south Africa for a better life for them and their families . some have been attacked and in some cases even killed. Same case in equatorial guinea - a country that was once one of the poorest countries in the world but thanks to the discovery of oil their rapid rise in wealth/living standards started attracting hundreds of thousands of migrants from other African countries, leading to xenophobic attacks and public maltreatment towards migrant workers, Libyans also had similar resentment towards migrants flooding their country for job/better life etc etc.

In short with sudden wealth comes resentment towards migrant (especially unskilled ). I'm sure if Bangladesh one day becomes a very wealthy country like KSA/gulf countries many of your people won't be as welcoming towards migrants flocking in the country by the millions for jobs. Same with other countries in the region. Just look how Africans were treated in India even though India is not a wealthy country yet. Now Imagine the country was as wealthy as gulf states with high living standards
As they say it's only when someone becomes wealthy that you can ascertain their true behaviour. Poor people are often humble(for various reasons). Of course it's not always the case. Everybody can't be like that obviously. I'm just making a point.

I still believe their mentality will change and evolve with time though, no situation is permanent. So we can't say they will never change.moreover not all saudis/gulf Arabs are like that. If they were then there won't be millions of migrants both legal and illegal living there(some for decades) to be honest. So w shouldn't be picking on the Saudis alone, even though such actions should obviously be condemn. Just my 2 cents

I'm saying in Israel, plenty of non-muslims speak Arabic (beyond the muslims)....and they are identified as the worst enemies of Islam by many quarters...because they "enforce" etc on the Palestinians (its why they learn arabic in many cases).
BS.

.

Have you followed any IDF trooper patrol videos? Most know basic Arabic (given areas they are deployed to)...and a good number go for full learning of the language esp if they plan to be stationed there long term and will be engaged in SIGINT AND COMINT.

Don't forget that Arabic is an official language of Israel alongside Hebrew.

@Mountain Jew @DavidSling @500

I am not talking about the Israeli population... I am talking about the usual Palestinian Christians and muslims... they speak Arabic.

So why say what I said was BS? Lol. Of course for christians and muslims in Israel, arabic is their mother tongue. Its also the case for many Sephardic origin Jews in Israel too. Doesn't prevent the rest from learning it too esp when needed for the job.

I dont need to explain to you which of these groups is most reviled by hardcore islamist theocrats in the world overall.

I thought you were saying the Palestinian Christians are the greatest enemy of Islam and Palestinians... and that they learn Arabic just to be able to communicate with the muslims.... Judaism isn't enemy of Islam either... Zionism is just like how radical Islamism is, which isn't related to Islam or Judaism respectively.

Nope I wasn't saying that. I was talking about the Zionists that learn Arabic to better enforce Zionism. I guess we misunderstood each other, its ok.

And no I dont agree with Zionism being like radical islamist. But thats too long subject to discuss so lets agree to disagree on that.
