Huawei's Second Folding 5G Phone Sells Out in Seconds After Online Launch

(Yicai Global) March 5 -- Huawei Technology's second folding fifth-generation communication-compatible smartphone sold out within 30 seconds after its online release this morning.

The new flagship, Huawei Mate Xs, priced at CNY16,999 (USD2,451), is the most expensive handset Huawei has ever debuted. Issued simultaneously on the firm's official website and on JD.Com and Alibaba Group Holdings' Tmall e-commerce platform today.

More than 1 million consumers had placed advance orders to buy the new phone on the three platforms as of yesterday, according to The Beijing News.

You need both hand to use this smartphone? That is a very bad idea. I prefer Huawei Xs. Both hands or single hand, anytime.. big screen than most smartphone and 5G.

You make a good point, but there is a solution for that.

1. There should be two parts to a portable computer. One a wrist-watch-type device and the other a rollable screen computer.

2. The wrist-watch-type device can be used for things like phone calls ( even vid calls ). This can be done with one hand.

3. For more involved things, on the rollable computer there can be a spring mechanism that must be disabled to pull out the screen. Once the screen is in pulled-out state it can be used with one hand or both hands. After use, the spring mechanism is enabled to roll back the screen into the case.

4. The communication between the rollable computer and the wrist device can be via Bluetooth.

I like to walk with my smartphone on one hand , big enough for me to see most message , news and reply my friend thru messaging typing. While the other hand , maybe holding to a coffee,a drink or ice cream.

Huawei Xs is a brilliant idea. Smart watch is simply too small to be useful for the function i needed with one hand. I can be sure your idea will not work in mass commercial market. You idea is only useful in war time when digital map that can be rolled up to save space.
