Huawei unveils Mate X2 foldable phone, priced from about $2,785

Lol seriously!! Even if Huawei was sold in the US...at $2.7k would put it out of reach of most people since majority of the folks only intend to spend around $1k and this applies for several countries. For medium-low income countries in which Huawei operates, this phone is totally out of the equation
Umm,huawei is not really a typical"medium-low income country " intended phone ,that would be honor. In india and other low income countries of Asia ,huawei phones aren't even sold ,not in retail, they aren't even officially released, few sellers put it up in some e-commerce site at even more inflated price point, and that's about it. You are mixing huawei for xiaomi/honor.Huawei has always been above the affordable price point for low-income countries.

but it is not made for most people, only a few will buy it for showing off.

A very "communist" item this, costing thousands of dollars.

.
and when Mate X came into the market, some people bought one and sold it immediately, adding 10000 yuan(about 1500 $).
so people say that if you can get a Mate X2,you will make 10000 yuan at least.
there are enough rich people in the world.

. . .
yea that's true

Yes. So what I believe is that the Chinese government should have made available these phones free of cost or at minimal price at least within the People's Republic of China.

Actually Huawei could have made lot of money by selling these phones at minimal price around the world. Monopolizing the market.

Foldable phones are a non-starter. They do not improve anything other than screen-size but come at an increased weight, (a big factor for men who put them in trousers) and an increased risk of breaking. If I want a phone, I want a manageable phone that goes with me in my pocket and when I need bigger screens for multimedia, I have a tablet, system and computer for that.

I see these phones will be bought by early adopters, the passionate few and users who want to show-off their affordance power but this is where the buss stops. I do not see foldable phones moving into mass consumers who buy because of utility.

For the same reason mentioned above, I find Motorola's folding phone is a successful form. It is small, goes to full-size phone in length but doesn't increase weight, rather reduces the size and it becomes easier to carry them.

US regime may have helped Huawei to be a more popular brand.

(Yicai Global) Feb. 24 -- Huawei Technologies' latest foldable smartphone Mate X2 has become one of the biggest highlights at Shanghai's ongoing Mobile World Congress 2021.

Huawei Mate X2, with a minimum price tag of CNY17,999 (USD2,786), was showcased at the first physical MWC event in more than a year amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Visitors at the event scrambled to get their hands on the new foldable model that can be bought from tomorrow. Foldable phone shipments will jump to 100 million units in 2025 from less than 1 million in 2019, Strategy Analytics predicted in an earlier report.

The Shenzhen-based company's latest addition to its handset portfolio has a sleek design with a barely noticeable crease after opening the fold.

Huawei also displayed its smart car platform HiCar at the event to enable drivers to use voice commands to control their infotainment systems, air conditioning, and windows.

US chip giant Qualcomm and its Shanghai-based partner Pongbot Technology brought their table tennis robot to the conference to let visitors test their skills by playing with the bot.

business is business, Huawei has their own way to do it and does it successfully.
BTW, your suggestion is funny and full of imagination.
when your government does it, please tell me.

BTW, your suggestion is funny and full of imagination.

There is an old international project called OLPC ( One Laptop Per Child ) which called for cheap and reliable laptops to be distributed among school students with the governments footing the purchase of the laptop ( 100 dollars per laptop ). Wikipedia page.

So my suggestion is not that funny.

when your government does it, please tell me.

My government and my country's system is extremely capitalist. One example of this is the suicide of 300,000+ farmers just between 1995 and 2015. Within ten years. The suicides happened only because of the Indian socio-economic system.

.
Then Mate X2 is obviously not the phone for you since it is beyond you.
Why are you complaining?
:sarcastic: :sarcastic: :sarcastic:
Beyond? Ok sure.
I wait until Huawei phone sinks to one dollar then I buy dozens of them as lego or football for my sons.
What else can you do with a chinese phone without google, facebook, twitter?
