Huawei may handle Airtel's 4G rollout in Delhi, Mumbai

Salaam to all the Musims,

:pakistan:

Any news when Huawei will launch the mammoth 6.1 inch screen phablet Huawei Ascend Mate? It was shown off at CES January 2013 and 2 months later, still I've not seen it launched internationally as of yet.

Salaam to all the Muslims.

Unfortunately some of your fellow countrymen don't share your views. They have such a hatred for everything China.
look at this way, collaboration and investment is a sure shot way to earn reputation in the indian market.
we dont want a fly-by-night company just to sell their products.
huawei is doing it right by opening their largest R&D center outside china, in India. chinese auto companies are setting up manufacturing units here as well.
Work with us so we can together make more money.

a growing india will have a higher demand for chinese products

Huawei is a great company!
what are the prices/packages for 4G LTE in India?

How pitiful that some posters (FROM BOTH SIDES) think that they need to make a big fuss out of this

Apparently your carrier is thinking otherwise. Substandard products will never qualify for critical national infrastructures in the US. An example would be those from India.

India will never get away from relying on imports for their developments, such as Huawei. That's your destiny, get use to it.

LOL - hahahhahahaha - sure. The reason they will consider Huawei is because it is cheap - it is not as if Huawei has developed any ground breaking technology that we will have to rely on Chinese technology - hahahahaha - one thing to reverse engineer, quite another to actually develop and invent a product. The Chinese are simply incapable of doing that.

And Huawei is the same company which even the head of an African telecom operator charitably called "$hit" - you know when the Africans think you are hopeless, you are scraping the bottom of the bottom of the barrel.

Don't be short light, India is a big market, and new technology need the market, no market, who feed our huge of companies?
And we sell equipment, we get money, we can invest more money on next generation technology.
Many germany brand invest in China, but we still have hug gap with them, Why?
They are untrustworthy. Look at the way they violated the Geneva Convention by detaining the Italian ambassador!

Let's say you have service level agreements - for delivering a product or service on time and the sum involves billions of $ - in case of a dispute, you are forced to go to court - where do you think there is more chance you getting a fair trial - if your supplier is Ericsson in a Stockholm court or if your supplier is Huawei in a Beijing court?
in matters of arbitrage between a domestic company [Nokia] & a foreign litigant [India], the verdict would invariably be biased in favor of the domestic party. You don't take up such matters in the domestic court - see what happened to Uninor in India
In such cases you're better off seeking International arbitrage, in which case it wouldn't matter whether you filing complaint against Nokia or ZTE.
In fact with a Caucasian heavy nature of such arbitration bodies, you'd have better chance of getting a verdict in your favor if the opposing party is a Han Chinese, than a Swede.

Any way you look at it going with the Chinese makes great sense, until the time an Indian CISCO comes up - a distant goal.

I wish the competition in 3g-4g area becomes tighter so the prices will come down. For 3g ,its already coming down.

It is a great thing the Chinese and Indians are working together - it fares well for peace and stability in the region.

I just hope Indian political parties do not get insecure over it and trash the deal.

India would not have been insecure if this Company would have been a little more trannsparent

This company is the future Samsung/Apple.

Just see what this company does in 10 years time.

Absolutely agreed.....but Huawei needs Corporate Governance to govern the boards...steps like not allowing Indians in the Laboratories and certain floors of their sensitive r&d centers in India are reasons why suspicion arises in the first place.. although they have changed that now..they should have done that when major contracts were to be won ........but that being said they have dethroned Motorola in India and are challenging Qualcomm and Cisco in India and i commend them for that
