As long as they are not being physical, advise the lady to walk off and perhaps accompany her to a safe distance (make sure she doesn't assume you're being a hero and line maaring yourself? ).

Also if its not appropriate to intervene (like when the girl looks like she's so pissed off she'd bite your head off too, even for helping), go and stand really close to the scene making those eve-teasers shy away from pursuing further. Try to call some authority in or pretend to do it.

Don't provoke the situation, remember they will have to pick a fight with you if you make them look overly bad in front of the girl and while you are in the right and should be prepared for a fight while going in, its never good to do so. That's the height of your civic duty, not the start of it. Avoid it at all costs.

Although I always intervene in some way or the other, never ignore it. Its a delicate position, you want to get the maximum result with the least amount of meddling then get yourself detached from the situation and the persons involved.

If you are doing this for the hero-giri and picking up the girl yourself - walk away there are better and more easier ways.

its all about girl's guts...a boy teased a girl, girl ignored him and moved on, boy becomes hero in his group and now he will tease every second girl of the town...
a boy teased a girl..girl showed some guts and will power..instead of complaining, she slapped the boy in the middle of crowd as well as kicked his nuts..boy learned the lesson and now he will think 1000 times before eve-teasing coz he know if something goes wrong it gonna hurt him very bad!!!
