Family friend of mine in India got married to a Hindu girl a couple of months ago. They used to work together, and I guess fell in love with each other. She converted to Islam. Girl's parents had no objection to her marriage or conversion. Another Muslim lawyer (female, prior convert from Hinduism to Islam), assisted in all the legal paperwork to convert to Islam prior to the marriage.

Funny that the biggest objection was from the boy's family. Father of the boy was furious and refused to accept her as his daughter-in-law. He called her conversion a sham and said "mere bete ko phasa liye". Now, a couple of months later the father has now calmed down and is happy to see his daughter-in-law praying namaaz etc and trying to learn the Quran.

But haters will call it a Love Jihad. Little they realize there is much objection to this inter-religious marriage by the families of Muslim boys as well.
