How should Iran respond to recent Terror attack in Iran?

Iran gave India the contract to build and operate a major port out of Sistan Baluchestan which will slowly turn that area into a major industrial port and what your suggesting is the correct long term fix but not really a short term one.

Iran's Kurdistan and Kermanshah provinces where Iranian Kurds live between them have 8 or more new universities, bunch of new powerplants, new dams,.... And yet as long as foreigners keep medaling nothing will really be enough to satisfy everyone because you will always have a few thousand unsatisfied people in an area with nearly 3 Million people and if people start arming them it really doesn't take any more than a hundred or so armed terrorist in an area that size to cause problems.

As for Ahvaz and Khuzestan area here:

This is what it looked like in the early 90's

And this is what it looks like today:

So the notion that Iran has ignored these area's because they are Arab or Sunni is frankly NONSESE!
Khuzestan Universities

And that's more universities than the Pahlavi's built in all of Iran over a 50 year timespan in just the Khuzestan Provence alone!

So they are far from being a poor under developed area that Iran's government has ignored

Kam Kari ha?? Khoob beh post e ghabli neghah kon!
The Islamic Republic built more Universities in Khuzestan Province in the past 40 years than the Pahlavi's built over a 50 year timespan in ALL OF IRAN!

We developed the Ports there, We built dam's and powerplants, various industrial factories & even started construction of a Metro in Ahvaz!

Kodoom kam kari azizam?

Our people especially in the poor provinces don't compare their past with their today's life.they compare them self with richer provinces so it's not Khozestan1990 vs Khozestan2018 in their minds it's Khozestan2018 vs Tehran2018 or Khozestan2025 vs Tehran2025.

I agree with your other part no matter what our government do for Iranians there will be foreign influenced and foreign sponsored groups in our society the main reason for it goes back to our choice between low population with high welfare or higher population with lower welfare and as you know we picked higher population option after revolution.

Next part is about people priority vs government priority

People want to have clean water , clean air and more jobs while government pursuing her own plans .can we defend all government investments ? NO . it's one of the cases that will create more sense of inequality and I think this inequality is and will be factory of creating more terrorists.

.
How do you think Iran should respond to recent terror attack?

Should we stick to going after the individual group(s) responsible?

OR

Should we also go after the people that funded them? Either with direct conflict OR with covert actions?

http://english.alarabiya.net/en/New...E-over-offensive-remarks-on-Ahwaz-attack.html

IRI should show some gheirat or leave. We did nothing when KSA supported terrorists attacked us in Tehran. Now they attack us again, killing women, children soldiers, war veterans... They do nothing when Israel is destroying us in Syria. They do nothing against KSA openly supporting and funding MEK.

.
A gung ho response wont work. In fact it will getthe terrorists more sympathies.
Be a Fox and play smart. Same as our Raheel Sharif did. Find out who is funding the terrorists? Who is harboring them? Cut their Financial chain... Imprison all those who gave boarding and lodging to terrorists.
Arrest family members of terrorists along with terrorists and make them an example .
Put travel restrictions on the people of the areas from where the terrorists came.

. .
Improve internal security and increase armed forces, security personnel. This is not the only one, but it is the beginning of a wave of terrorism.

Learn from what Pakistan has done. Set up road blocks, metal detectors in front of every house of worship, bank, government, and patrol the streets and sensitive areas regularly.

Also securing borders, esp with Iraq and Afghanistan, should be priority number one.

I think Iran needs to gear up and be ready for full war BUT when it comes to actions we respond in kind!
For one we can arm Yemen with more sophisticated weapons like a hundred Armed Saegheh UAV's

Start with burning the embassies of your foes.

In terms of GDP they are the 3rd richest province in Iran. They have a major port, various industries, with plans to even put a nuclear power plant there, In terms of politics they have people like Shamkhani who is one of the top political and military figures in Iran and before the revolution majority of Iranian Arab's living in that area were nomads....

This is mainly foreign medaling or else if you compare it to what it was before the revolution and other provinces and how much growth they had and how much Iran's government invested there it's like night and day
And they are getting a nuclear powerplant and a metro!

Starting a full scale war and direct conflict with countries that would be able to hit your infrastructure over a handful of terrorist acts doesn't make much sense! Especially a country that's gone over 250 years without starting a war.
Iran needs to respond in kind!

These are the best course of action in my mind.

Before the revolution the Majority of Iranian Arab's were Nomads and Iran invested so much there that they are going from a nomadic life style to a city that will have a Metro of it's own and Nuclear Powerplant of it's own.
Iran built and developed a bunch of ports including one of Iran's major shipping ports, IRI built 20 universities, brought various industries, they are one of six free trade zones in Iran that brings about a lot of business,.... and the Iranian government has turned Khuzestan to one the top 3-4 richest provinces in terms of GDP in Iran!

So what else should we do there?

Esfahan at 2018 11 km

Khozestan ?

This underground metro idea is one of the most stupid ideas that someone can apply it still far better than having Irankhodro and Saipa  since it's public transportation . build the damn thing on surface .

Search results of "غلظت ذرات معلق" in Tasnimnews . this year Sistan and Baluchestan had 50 days without clean air !

I can remember few years back there was a similar case of air pollution in Khozestan and some other western provinces. in that time we saw very little effort from government to solve the issue before it became Tehran's problem while it reached to Tehran .... everyone !TV , Newspapers,Websites, officials guys, unofficial guys lol even Sepah and basij started to introduce plans to tackle issue and in a few days related government officials were in Baghdad to tackle this issue !! ( all of this happened only after it reached to Tehran and remained there for 1 or 2 days !!! )

Where is head of IRGC ? Where is intelligence minister ? Army ? Government ? Parliament ?

A serious respond could look like this:

- Starting step is to send 6 batteries of Mesbah-2 ZSU-23-8 AAA (6 x 4 guns, 2 x short range radar) via land route to south east Syria, close to an airfield.

- Send 12 Sarir 100mm AAA batteries around those Mesbah-2 (12 x 4 guns), also via Iraq.

- Send two Matla ol Fajr-3 radars to those Mesbah 2 and set up to nearby centers with each MoF-3 protected by 3 Mesbah-2 batteries

- Send 30 Tabas TELARs into that protected area of a 20km radius

- Send a full 3rd Khordad battery with 4 TELARs, 4 TEL and a Bashir radar, plus some support equipment of different kind.

- Declare a 200km radius no fly zone wast of Abukamal.

- 3 Mesbah-2 batteries will protect the airfield and a MoF-3, the 3 others the other Mof-3, the Bashir and the 3rd Khordad.

- Prepare airfield for 60 Shahed-129 UCAV

- Start hitting Deash positions in the desert and SDF areas

- Support operations by local infantery

- Send some 100 older Fateh-110B to the airfield to hit heavy, time critical targets if necessary.

Thats all.
It should not cost more than this.
Operation cost of the air defense would be very low. Fuel and operating cost of S-129 would be low as well.
What would cost are those 100 Fateh and 2500-5000 S-129 PGMs. If we count $30k for each unpowered Sadid, 5000 would cost $150m.

Total campaign cost should not be more than $250m. Total cost of deployed systems below $750m.

No flight zone would piss off the US and the SDF.
Hard force projection into Syria would piss off Gulf Arabs.
Iranian mobile power node in east Syria would piss off Israelis
Daesh would pay in blood.

That would be a cost effective, heavy response.

Starting a full scale war is not the answer. We are in no position to do that, as US will make sure to take advantage of the war. If they do not invade us, they will make sure to use whatever means of propaganda they have to justify their claim that Iran is a dangerous, terrorist nation.

But we do need to show that we are not a country to bully and toy with. Saudi has successfully launched two attacks on our own soil. Israel is attacking us 24/7 in Syria. We are doing nothing. What kind of message do you think that sends our enemies?

Don't mean to be rude, but what do you suggest then?

Israels ability to strike Iran in Syria will be diminished as soon as Syria gets those s-300s, so maybe Iran can step up troop and equipment deployment to Syria.
