The attacks in Paris, Beirut and Baghdad, claimed by global terrorist outfit Islamic State – also known as Daesh –, have stirred a debate over terrorism and measures to reign in the extremism spreading all over the world.

Surveys by the Pew Research Centre in April and May gauged sentiment towards Isis in Muslim countries, finding that in none of the countries were 15 per cent of the population, or more, in favour of Isis.

The nationally representative surveys found that of all countries, Pakistan was the least unfavourable (28 per cent), and Lebanon was the most (100 per cent), towards the terrorist group, reported The Independent.

Pakistan was the least decided of all the countries surveyed, as 62 per cent had yet to reach an opinion on Isis.

The most sympathetic country was Nigeria (14 per cent), where Boko Haram, who have pledged allegiance to Isis, operate.

How Pakistanis view Islamic State? survey reveals -

Pakistan Media needs to work on exposing ISIS.

This is the beauty of our beautiful people who will not give an opinion on Islamic matters. Unlike those on here who negate their emman on daily basis on questioning Sharia and the Quran, the majority of us rely guidance from the Ulema Ikram.

P.S Pakistanis are NOT supporters of ISIS. We are only ignorant of our religion and can be fooled easily by anyone who is perceived as righteous, even though ISIS actions are contrary to Islam. In order to make an informed decision you need complete information and not snippets of it.

Is that true about Indian Muslims as well? just curious.

It's the same all over the world.

French envoy saddened by Azam remark

The supposedly most developed muslim country turkey - where fans booed a minutes silence for the victims...so I wouldn't be surprised.

According to @jamahir ..Indian muslims are the masters whose schools of thought created all the muslim terrorists and the Islamists of the world.

.
62 percent undecided? Is this for real?

Most Pakistanis dont really give a crap about what goes on in the rest of the world. Our world tends to revolve around events in our neighbouring countries at most. Only a small urban class for example will have followed or even known about the events in Paris.

Its not that we don't care about the dead in Christendom, we do. Some of us won't show it publicly because they show no empathy towards our dead. There have been many evidences for this and Lubnan terrorist act took place only 24hrs before Franc and I did not see any threads or any out pouring of grief.

this is what happend when all those currept Politicians from NOON league P Party F rahman group mQm loot countries worth poor gets poorer and hatful towards system and to those who are enjoying the status quo...

What have army and your idiot old fart imran khan has done for Pakistan...?Excepts trying to grab Powers n putting Pakistan down on every plateform ...

Oh come on ! ISIS doesn't get much coverage in the media here. Most people don't even know who they are. ISIS operates in the middle east, people generally in south asia dont know much about them. Imran khan-Reham Khan divorce gets more coverage than ISIS. "Dont know" doesnt necessarily mean "We support them". Majority of the people in Pakistan despise terrorism, because we ourselves have suffered the most. Many of the Indian posts on this thread are quite laughable.

This poll was taken before the APS massacre, at a time when the state was considering peace talks with TTP. Still majority of pakistanis were against ttp back then. One can be sure that the percentage of unfavorable opinion of the TTP after the APS massacre would be close to 90%.

Hamas is a different kind of organisation. Their primary goal is nation building in Palestine. Not to create Islamic state and stuff like that. And that is why Arabs, who know this, vote positively for Hamas. Pakistanis don't know much about Hamas. The difference will be within the margin of error.

That would be the PLO....Hamas is a jihadi organization

TTP is similar to ISIS with respect to its goals and look where it stands in Pakistan

You don't see mainstream political parties openly advocating opening offices for Islamist Terrorists in many countries.

That was one ego maniac who refuses to believe he was wrong on the issue plus he was ridiculed for that.
After last year even he won't dare state that position

Islamist terror outfits have significant following in Southern Punjab, KPK, and Fata.

My guess is 5%

That would make 10 million people

But I do agree with you that most Pakistanis would not stand against them if the state breaks down....Swat was an example !

These surveys can be structured to show what ever results u need or want to show...

U meed to see how many people were surveyed... how they selected those people...and how they assumed those people represent whole populace of country ... and what question was asked and how it was worded..

If you see their sentiments or reactions..They don't really care if you care or not. The general sentiment is that they are up to their gills with the islamist jihadi crap.

Frankly I agree with them...because the "caring" goes like this..."We do sympathise with your deaths - but you have to understand that it is you who are to be blamed". Stop your attack against terrorists, put up with our jihadists, Islamists, and our terrorists who have taken a boat to your town. .provide them with social security cheques, create islamic zones in the center of your cities, do not hate the terrorists because they hate your way of life. ..and in general put up with our shit and terrorists.

In reality nobody cares if Muslims care about any terrorist attack...because everyone knows hat the muslims aren't going round do shit against them..unless uncle Sam threatens to bomb them into the stone age.

Everybody knows that to get to the terrorists ..They need to fight their way through or bomb the shit out of their neighborhood..because no muslim nation or ghetto has the moral standing (even if he whole neighborhood lives on the largesse of the hosts) to hand over the terrorists hiding among their midst.

Popularity of religion is at a very low level. Pakistanis are just mostly disinterested and indifferent towards isis or religious terrorism.

Just look at Indian soap operas and each episode has Puja (worship) of Hindu dieties. While Pakistani drama serials rarely show any Namaz (prayer). Just goes to prove who is more religious ! Even in 24 episode (one hour each) "Zindagi Gulzar Hai" was only one scene where Zaroon (protagonist) goes to Masjid with his father-in-law.

Take this survey of Hamas as an example....you would think it being a Palestinian faction will have a support of a large section of the Pakistani population but...

View attachment 273262

interesting... gaza is where hamas rules ( installed into power by western governments ) but gaza people generally don't like hamas as per the graphic... so hamas rules more by fear than through respect... this is counter to what the palestine-origin hamas supporter/member on pdf, hazzy ( @Falcon29 ), tries to convince pdf.

it is also known that gaza still has a significant population that supports plo.

however in the graphic, west bank is still with a lesser percentage not in favor of hamas... this might simply be mischief on part of the survey taker, pew, which surely is connected with usa government and therefore takes a anti-socialism line ( plo generally guided by socialism ).

You are a munafiq, remove this green flag dog.

munafiq is what i call mullah types.

go take a shower.

you are in australia... are you part of that filthy gang called hizb-ut-tahrir ( they being puppets of the australian government and nato )??

and i am cat. :agree:

by the way, you joined today and immediately started takfir'ing me?? :D
