Indians are highly obsessed with fair skin but Asians as a whole are obsessed with it including Chinese & Pakistanis to varying degrees.

Just a wishful thinking created by Western media to make themselves feel good.

I have travelled most of East Asia and I've never seen such obsession in any parts of it. In most parts of North East Asian countries, including the northern part of Vietnam, people have fair skin and do not have such obsession. Even in Vietnam, many models preferred and trying to look tanned.

And I've never seen my wife using any whitening cream, and she is a little darker than me.

Offtopic but if the girls in the video are any metric for what the average Indian girls look like then being dark colored should be the last of their worries. At least Pakistani girls be prettier on average despite their complexion.

That might be true for Vietnam since I don't know much about it. Indonesians are pretty okay with their skin colours as well but in China, Pakistan & India..it is a problem and especially in India it is really strong. Arabs are pretty okay too though many Arabs are pretty fair as well. But I like the a bit tanned skin.

There's not even comparison. Caste-system is part of the hinduism. In Islam, everyone is equal and if some people don't follow the teachings of the religion and follow some bad traditions of a bad culture then it is their fault. But that is no where even close what is practiced in India in the name of the religion.

You are out of your mind. We don't have cast system. We can say the obsession with Fair skin could be partially true in Pakistan.
In Pakistan generally girls are lot fairer anyway. Only those who work in the field or exposed their skins too much to the sun are darker.
I therefore, don't worry about the color of the skin. Black could be beautiful too.
With the same token I have worked on one of the busy UK airports almost two decades ago. I have seen many many Indian's celebs i.e. Indian actors/actresses, they look uggggggggggggggggggggly.
Therefore, I would say in the case of Indians it is the ugly part which should be discussed, not the color of the skin.
Indians exterior and interior both are ugly. They should be worried about that.
