The Srutis are called the Vedas, or the Amnaya. The Hindus have received their religion through revelation, the Vedas. These are direct intuitional revelations and are held to be Apaurusheya or entirely superhuman, without any author in particular.

I am not implying that the lady here means malice, but don't expect a happy ending to your suiting.

Your knowledge is admirable. And I believe in the Vedas. It has given me the freedom to think for myself, transcend the boundaries of dogma and feel truly free. I have read about many other faiths and never felt more at ease. Dharma gives me lifeblood, and for that I am grateful. Om shanti.
