Mumbai is a metropolitan pan indian city,you can't expect to reap the huge economic benefits from the city acting as all of India's primary commercial hub without the side effect of cultural exchange and dilution in the city.The enormous economic benefits to the state of maharashtra of having the nation's economic capitalcan't be underestimated.Any other indian state would kill to have a hub like mumbai even if it meant a little cultural dilution in the city itself.

The root cause - Mumbai is too small, only 600sq.km. but the population is over 20 million. Such a crowded city.

My father always says that Mumbai in 60s and 70s was beautiful and clean. Women used to roam in skirts after midnight and no one bothered them.

But from 80s and on, these North Indian started arriving. Thousands of Slums came up. Crimes went over the roof. Women are no longer safe. Whenever I read rape news, the rapists always tend to be from up, bihar, punjab and haryana.

The British developed Mumbai and these North Indians ruined it.

Sorry for my ignorance. I seriously thought Hindi was your language in Mumbai. When I was in Mumbai, everyone spoke in Hindi.

Hindi is the most used language in here. But it's not our language. It's the language of North Indian foreigners who are living here.
