@hinduguy
There is a vast philosophical difference between 'thinking' and 'accepting.'
Most Pakistanis 'think' of India as a threat. What should happen is that they must 'accept' India as an established enemy state.
The difference is the same between, 'Suspicion and Certainity'... This is what draws our threat perception and defensive posture.
When the philosophy behind the threat perception will change,they will result in a change in 'defensive posture'.
Pakistanis,if they have learnt 'anything' from 1971,must come to realize that the Indian policy is based on 'Chankya niti', and till it exists, no credible peace can be made.
All we need to drill that reality into Pakistani psyche is a catalyst,which in this case will be Modi,being presented in a plate to us and secondly a potent propagenda machine,which exists already.
Modi in India means that the temprature of bilateral ties will be
zero or below. Perfect temprature to change minds.
Hopefully Modi will threaten Pakistan with military force to appease his hindutva voters,that will give more fuel to our cause.
like somebody already pointed out..what works in gandhinagar does not work in delhi.. and once in power he has to be decent to the wider world. Nobody will want an indian version of ahmedinejad..
Modi is about development politics, and people are voting him based on development. If the side effect of that is a frozen relation with pakistan (but better one with china, and economic prosperity in general), I would say its worth a try.
Anti pakistan rhetoric will be ineffective as there is no major terror attack in last few years, and terror is not high on people's agenda. Economy and corruption issues are.
I have my reservations about modi though, I dont think they will be able to form a coalition, so in effect out of power for 5 more years.
About the small side effect in pakistan, I think our security aparatus and diplomacy is on such assumption already, it will change nothing for us, whether you become more hostile, or more convinced hostile.
as fakehistorian will say.. its same old $hit..
