How many Fatalities Pakistan had in Terrorist Violence since 2000.
On several occasions I have seen many of our august PDF members talking about the number of causalities Pakistan had in the war against terror. Usually people talk about a range between 70000-100000.I think these are exaggerated numbers.I have even heard PMIK telling on international forums that Pakistan has lost 70,000 people in war against terror.I think the actual number is far less.If any body has the actual figure kindly share.

70 k includes terrorists killed so its total number from all waring sides

The dead the wounded and the economic loss is immeasurable.
However, Pakistan lost over 120 billion dollars in this war on terror.

It cud have been more not less those terrorist were not only involve in blasts but also criminal activities. We Pakistanies are kind of breed who dont show their wounds when we sud have been counting marking and blaming to those who were behind. Now after some time we are not sure if they were 50 70 or more cuz we didnt feel it or were not there at the point and we have habbit to move on.

.
Luckily I found relevant details regrading the total fatalities from 2000-2019.But my question is why do we count the killed terrorist as our loss or sacrifices.

Fatalities in Terrorist Violence in Pakistan 2000-2019

Civilians----------------------------------------------------22657

Security Force Personnel--------------------------------7127

Terrorists/Insurgents-----------------------------------34114

Total-------------------------------------------------------63898

120 billion seems like a conservative estimate. It's been 19 years and still there is stigma of security issues against the country. We have so much potential with 2nd youngest pop, strategic location and 5th largest pop that investors should have been lining up by the thousands. Instead we hardly get a couple billion in FDI due to bad repute and stigma.

Could be but Pakistans economy would have naturally grown slowly if this war on terror did not hurt it, but it would not be this bad. Irrespective of the filthy civil bureaucracy, Pakistan's nominal gdp might have been close to 400 bill or more and mil budget would have around 16 bill or more by that metric.

We as a nation don't care about our victims. Even if an aeroplane crashes in another country, they built a monument in its memory. But I never saw a place where we commemorate any of our fallen and more disrespectful that we don't even know the true number.
at least a monument should be built to not just memorialise the fallen but also tell the tale to our future generations what we have gone through.
