The popularity of the Sangh and the BJP is because of the lack of any alternative and Congress corruption and pseudo secularism. I prefer BJP to the Congress at the State level. If BJP had people like Vajpayee, Yashwant Sinha and Jaswant Singh at the helm - I would prefer them at the national level over Sonia and band of corrupt rogues. But Modi and Shah have been an economic disaster and societally polarizing. Just good at marketing - nothing else.

Yeah, that seems to be the trend, both on this foreign forum and in real life.

I've found mostly quite liberal and forward thinking and nice people generally who happen to be BJP voters.. these are anecdotal references of course.. like the beef tikkon waala RSS/BJP is definitely a serious deviation from the mean, the anomaly machines exploded, maiming and killing all true sanghi souls within a 2 feet radius

Also you have to realize, none of the actual leaders are committed to any ethos. Only their stupid followers are. BJP/RSS idiots love Jyotiraditya Scindia now and Congress chamcha love Sidhu. Thackeray is a villain to BJP and a hero to NCP/Congress. Karnataka and MP fell with Congress Govts because "secular" elected MLAs sold out to BJP.

BJP accuses Congress of nepotism and Amit Shah's son with 0 knowledge of cricket is heading BCCI.

Modi talks about Gandhi family when 2 BJP MPs are Maneka and Varun.

So if you blindly support either, you are not very smart. Just vote for the best candidate and hope he is not going to sell you out.
