Being part of Seato and Cento made Pakistan very important to the West then.
Ayub govt. probably milked America fully and used American help to make Pakistani economy and all kind of institutions to grow very fast--something on the scale of reforms seen in China and India over past 2-3 decades.
I don't think any Pakistani leader was received so well like Ayub Khan in America until Benazir Bhutto's first term as a Prime Minister. However, Benazir's stood out because, by 1989, the Soviet involvement in Afghanistan was ending and Pakistan just did not have the same importance for Americans.

if since beginning we solve our problems with India and stay away from whole world's mess and secret games today Pakistan will be a great Asian tiger but our bad luck we still are involved in each and every issue of world .
