Yes they are Hindus. Police is to provide security to the procession, you are confused because in India they rape, but in rest of the world they protect citizens.

There are 3 or 4 hindu family in my Dha karachi locality and 2 have clinics here too i know off, people respect them and they are very patriotic.

there are not army but scouts from nearby school and police for safety.

Hindu population is growing rapidly in Pakistan- Many people don't mention it because it goes against the stereotype of Pakistan being an intolerant place only for Muslims but we have the 5th largest population of native Hindus around 4.5 million currently and in few years it will overtake Indonesian hindus and Pakistanis will be the 4th largest Hindu community. IA hope they will continue to grow and flourish.

Our doctor was also Hindu, his clinic was in Badar Commercial DHA.

A few years ago in tando Mohammad khan in sindh some miscreaments set fire to a hindu temple and whole town came to support the hindus and one landlord gave a piece of his land so that a temple can be built for hindus can worship in it.

This is how we as pakistanis look at our hindu minorities and respect them. Unfortunately our neighbors are always raping and lynching their minorities and running pogroms like ghar wapsi
