How Does this Happen?

. . .
Naive post.. All we know about arnab goswami is that he's some assholez indian tv guy who barks against Pak 24/7... All I know about subarmanim is that he's some indian political A holes from South india..

Pakistanis watch bollywood because of sexy chicks and coz they can understand the language...

And no NS has a strong support from industrialists and not feudals.. There are no target killings in lahore but karachi which has decreased a lot due to operations launched by Rangers and police...
Orya Maqbool is a retired civil services officer.. Moeed Pirzada is an educated tv guy (doesn't enter into mud slinging).. Shiekh Rasheed is known as the biggest lip .. And a one man show..

And what do you know about KPK,Baluchistan,Sindh,GB,AK or even Punjabs culture (which itself is different in different regions like Southern,Potohar,Central and so on?
Watch news channels doesn't make you an expert..
And Hell no we don't want to do anything with you guys... No even want to be associated with you ppl...
You've probably seen Pakistanis in Internet doing exactly that... Meanwhile its nternet indians who push the propoganda that we are the "same" people.. When we are clearly not.. Not culturally nor ethnically not religiously etx.

its too bad then that some of your countrymen feel the need to bring up toilet-paper threads like this

LOL. Unlike yogijaat I think I can provide a rational answer.

The wounds of partiton cut deep in Punjab mainly. But also the places from where the vilence was at it's peak.

For me, when I lived in Kerala, Pakistan was mentioned in the history books. The creation of it (with a few biases thrown here and there of course). The only time Pakistan was brought up was whenever there was a border skirmish.

Our neighbour Tamil Nadu was of course pre-occupied with Sri Lanka. And that got more play because we did have a number of Tamil refugees.

The North-East of India is sort of cut off from the rest of India and their pre-occupation is with Tribal conflicts, seperatist movements within Nagaland etc. Partition has absolutely no play there. But rather conflicts with mainland Indians and their neglect.

I am sure Pakistan has these dynamics too. This is of course the case in amny nations which tends to have many ethnicites living in them.

There is a broader national narrative, but contained with in it are other historical struggles, Ethnic vonflicts class conflicts etc.

Hopefully that helps.

answered in few words - the people of Punjab (Pakistan) have moved on. Nobody on the street talks about partition because the borders are drawn and 1947 = fait accompli

.
Now before Indian and Pakistan members go ballistic and declare me an @$$hole for propagating 're-union'- I want to clarify that like @Star Wars and @Bang Galore I agree that partition was for the greater good (I would support any move that would have prevented millions of deaths though).

But still I'm asking- after strong facebook recommendations I recently started watching 'Zindagi Gulzaar Hai' (very short-lived effort coz I'm not an emotional guy), followed by several other Pakistani dramas recommended by Indians. I know Pak members know lots about Indian movies (hell they enjoy Dhoom 3 while I consider it a declaration of war on humanity). I find us so knowledgeable about each others' cultures and states (I know about Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, target deaths in Lahore and Imran Khan, the fact tha NS has a strong base from feudal Punjab, I know about Sheikh Rasheed , Oriya Maqbool Jan and Moeed Pirzada. Most Pakistani members know about our famous personalities like Arnab Goswami and Subramaniya Swami. If there is NOTHING common, then why would we try to know so much about each other? What set me off was this video- Pakistan media covering Haryana elections? WTF man?

nobody in pakistan cares about harayana elections
