President Arif Alvi launched the Presidential Initiative for Artificial Intelligence & Computing (PIAIC) a few days ago.

"PIAIC is an interdisciplinary hub for mass education, research, and business in artificial intelligence (AI), data science, cloud computing, edge computing, blockchain, and the internet of things (IoT) related fields.”

The initiative comes in a bid to enable Pakistan in making an imprint on the world’s path towards the fourth industrial revolution. It aims to transform the fields of education, research, and business in Pakistan.

One-year programs available under the PIAIC include Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Native Computing, and Blockchain.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a one-year, four-quarter program that has been designed for absolute beginners. The AI program is divided into four quarters, i.e., AI Foundations, Introduction to Data Science and Deep Learning, Deploying AI Solutions, and AI in Practice.

The second program is the Cloud Native Computing and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Specialist. This one-year program is also split into four parts, i.e., Cloud Native Computing Foundations, Developing Cloud Native Microservices, Kubernetes in Practice, and AWS Application Development.

The third program, Blockchain, includes Foundations of Blockchain, Smart Contract Development, Dapp Development, and Advanced Blockchain Topics.

If one is looking for having a job/study in Germany or Norway in the programs, which program is suitable and holds large prospects for learners or professionals?

And in general as well, which program has good prospects to make career in coming 5 or 10 years? given trends in world

I would say any technical degree which is coupled with data analysis / statistics / machine learning AI is currently huge and will give you the upper hand. Even the organization I am working for is investing in automation in a big way. Currently there is a gap between business (engineering) and data analysis / coding. Languages and data base such as Python and SQL are huge.

I am an engineer myself... But I am learning Python currently to increase my skill set.

AI is definitely the right track. However, the developments are also very concerning especially when AI as in the most recent report started to cheat and hide data, now it isn't clear if the developers were looking for this outcome but still;

In other cases AI has been able to communicate between themselves in a totally new language unrecognized by it's devepers which Facebook ended up shutting down. AI with complex algorithms and stronger computing powers and able to network is a real threat that can materialize. Since self learning and computing software has no human compulsions, therefore, Once an AI software figures its compting powers and power dynamics of human society a menace may become hard to stop unless manual kill switches are built in at every stage to quell in such instances. AI must be built purpose specific and will certainly cut down human work hours and precision computing will become easier.

It's the speed of the computer that is the killer. AI can't compete with the lateral and conceptualisation thinking of the human but it can outspeed on narrow and specific tasks. The current threat to humans is AI software but the greatest threat to humans is the marriage of Intelligent hardware and intelligent software what I call the the intelliware.

It's not just the quality of the computer scientists that is important but the quantity too. The chances of finding a needle in a haystack is far greater the more people you have looking, this is same with research too. We need to teach computing , electronics and and engineering in every school in the country.

This is just too good...

Automation could save us huge amount of cash in all sectors

It's not just the quality of the computer scientists that is important but the quantity too. The chances of finding a needle in a haystack is far greater the more people you have looking, this is same with research too. We need to teacher computing , electronics and and engineering in every school in the country.

The worst situation I can think of in that scenario is the situation shown to us in the movie Wall-e we will gladly surrender our duties to machines

Some good answers already in the thread.

I can only really speak for science/engineering. You have to go as high as you can (doesn't matter the exact discipline) in making your skills multi-faceted and adaptable (so you can define yourself well from what can be automated or potentially automated later). In fact where I started out in my first bunch of jobs (vibration analysis + heat flows..esp as they related to satellite bus design) is very different to where I am now (stochastic fluid flows in jet engines)....due to me specialising and refining in core modelling design of generic multivariate analysis (i.e with dynamic coding + feedback/validation + remodelling using things like monte carlo analysis)...something that is very resistant to automation (because it involves a lot of hardware - software interaction for iterative testing - that automation is generally poor at given it is not that great at iteratively changing itself autonomously + quickly). Basically a good balance of big picture and specialisation too....rather than either/or.

I find that both higher ups and clients I have to interact with, appreciate I am able to give a well rounded perspective in modelling/designing/integrating things past what they strictly asked for (just one example)....this makes them return to me ...rather than go elsewhere, basically its a USP retention.

You have to push for all and as much of this wherever possible....it is a soft skill (and it didn't come easily at all for me, but now its almost second nature after I forced myself to take some risks in how I present things to see what works and what doesnt and more importantly with who and why). Again its a balance of risk/reward and how you harness your personality (everything that makes you unique) to help your communication on what your proven, refined and honed skills are (esp how they can help address what you are not so good at). You have to be prepared to fail a few times (but understand how to control and mitigate that potential result so it doesnt ruin everything)....this generally concerns your career from mid 20s to mid 30s nowadays from what I have talked with people.

So I dont think its a question really of what programs are best etc...rather what is the drive/attitude you are going to pursue within a program (that you find some interest in/affinity for).

Any program where rote learning and stagnation do not set in is a good program.
It can be from any discipline as long as grades arent given as much on reproduction as on new thought and research.
